Imagine flying over London then up to Edinburgh. After that fly through the Grand Canyon, though New York and finish looking over Paris. Well, Google Earth might not be quite as good as the real thing but with Google Earth you can travel the world in seconds and without paying a penny.
My computer is full of Google's free software. I use the Google Toolbar. I use Gmail. I use Google Calendar. I use Google's photo software, Picasa. I use Google Desktop. I use Google Talk. In fact, my blog is created using Google's Blogger and I put Google's adverts on my blog. Therefore, there is no doubt that I am a fan of Google.
WHAT IS GOOGLE EARTH? Google Earth is a free piece of software which allows you to travel the world. When Google Earth is open on your computer you will be looking at our planet. Now the fun begins. You can move the world around, zoom in and out and shake it all about. The detail is incredible and when you zoom in far enough it is possible to see trees, cars and even people. Everything is viewed from a birds eye view.
HOW DO I GET GOOGLE EARTH? Simple, head over to http://earth.google.com.
It is a very big world that we live in so the search facility come in handy. It is also possible to tilt the screen and make some buildings 3D.
My cousin recently moved to America and with Google Earth I was able to view the street she would be living in before she left. I also recently visited Walt Disney World and when I got home I was able to look at the theme parks from above, which is amazing. Those are just a couple of things I have used Google Earth for. It is possible to view some breathtaking scenery from the Alps so the Grand Canyon.
I should make you aware that not the whole world is available on Google Earth and some become more blurry when zoomed close in. Google are improving this all the time.
I should also make you aware that an internet connection is need as the images are streamed from the internet. This is an advantage in my opinion as it means the actual software is relatively small in size.
Google Earth, like almost everything Google offers, is free of charge. It is an amazing piece of software that has to be seen. It's not exactly a practical piece of software and nor does it have a particular function but what it does do is allow you to take in the magnificent world that we live in.
Since Google Earth is free I would recommend it to everybody. It really does have to be seen to be believed.

I quite like google earth too, its a shame though that most of the places I have been looking at are still at the quite blurry stage - Australia particularly.
