I got the Google toolbar when I heard that it had a pop-up blocker, this was quite a long time ago so there weren’t as many pop-ups then. But now this toolbar is fabulous, it blocks around 50 a day, which is brilliant and not only does it have a pop-up blocker, it also has a whole host of other features. Read the rest of this review to find out more.
Where is it From? ==============
The Google toolbar is obviously from Google, all you have to do is to go to www.Google.com, and there will be a link, near the bottom asking you to ‘get the Google toolbar now! Then it starts to download and this is a very small download, so even on the slow, 56kbps modem is still quite nippy.
Quality of the Toolbar =================
The Google toolbar is of very good quality, it is very professional looking, and it will blend in to either the traditional, Windows 95/8/2000 and it will blend into XP. It works with all windowsoperating systems, and provides great quality buttons producing a professional looking addition to all the tool bars on your website. (NB, the Google toolbar cannot be used on the Kazaaweb browser).
Features of the Toolbar =================
This toolbar is by far the best one I’ve ever used, it has loads of features to keep you happy. Here is a list of all the features: Ø Google Search – This is just a little text box in the toolbar that allows you to search any of the worldwide Google sites. Ø Site Rating – This is a great feature that allows you to rate websites, with either a happy face or a sad face. One all of these ratings are put together from the millions of Google toolbar users, they produce a bar titled, ‘overall rating.’ Ø Auto Fill – This is absolutely brilliant, it is one form that you fill in on the toolbar, (e-mail, name, address, etc). Then whenever you are at a form that you have to fill in, it will highlight the boxes that the toolbar can fill, and then you click on the auto fill icon and it fills it in. This provides a much quicker approach to filling in awkward, annoying forms. Ø News Button – This feature is only really handy for people that like being up to date with the news.
Up – Sides ========
There are many up sides to this tool bar, such as the fact that you’ll never have to see five messages saying that you’ve one a trillion pounds again. And the other great reasons are the fact that it has the wonderful thing that is auto-fill, no more wasted time filling out annoying films. Overall there are so many great things about this tool bar, and I recommend it to anyone and you’ll know how brilliant it is when you download it.
Down Sides
===
Really with this great toolbar there are no downsides, but since I’ve made this section, I have to say that the only reason that it is bad that another centimetre of your viewing area is gone. But really that isn’t bad and that really shouldn’t be there. Overall the bad sides are extremely good, because there aren’t really any!
Overall I recommend this toolbar to all of you if you haven’t already got it, it downloads quickly, has great features and a pop-up blocker!
HIGHLY RECCOMENDED

Excellent review - I've been using the Opera software too long to be converted back to Internet Explorer, but the few times that I have to use IE, I tend to have the Google toolbar running, mainly thanks to the pop-up stopper!

I love my Google toolbar and use it all the time. I didn't know about auto fill though as I had that function switched off - but will start using it now. Thanks! Jo

For me, the ability to restrict it to google.co.uk and to cut out any non-english pages marks it out as a great toolbar. I have it at home and work!!! Nice op. Marc
Advantages: Neat little IE plug in. Quickest way to search Disadvantages: Inability to launch search in a new window when doing a highlight/right click search
