Advantages: A new insight to the stubborn rude chef Disadvantages: Non
...Gordon Ramsay Autobiography has to be one of the best books I have read in a while. When you see him on the TV you think I want to tell him where to get off and slap him for being rude, but if you stop and think - then read his book you will understand why the way he is - Rude, Sexy and straight to the point.
Gordon talks about his childhood and his cruel father who did nothing but drink and abuse his mother, life in the Ramsay's was poor and the family were forever moving around the country because father Ramsay could never hold down a job. Gordon talks about his sister Diane but talks more about his brother Ronnie and his constant fight on drugs. Originally Gordon was a footballer until an horrific knee injury finished him, which his then how he turned to cookery. This is when you start to realise why Gordon is like he is now...

Playing with Fire Review ofGordon Ramsay's Playing with Fire - Gordon Ramsayby
Lisab3410
Advantages: Easy read, informative, motivating Disadvantages: Was over too quickly
...I really enjoyed Gordon' sstory. The book told of his early childhood which was somewhat troubled and how he 'fell in to' rather than chose his career for which he is now famous. Gordon talks with passion about his first love- football, and later his new love- cooking. I found his story really interesting and felt that I got to know Gordon a little better after the story.
Gordon's rise to fame was not a move that he planned, yet his troubled childhood gave him much drive and passion to be a success in his career. This passion and strength, and a clear desire for excellence is quite clear in the book and should be an example to young people to achieve their full potentail, despite the odds.
Gordon also talks fondly about his home life, his wife and children. This is worth a read if you are interested in Gordon Ramsay as a person....

Gordon's latest serving Review ofGordon Ramsay's Playing with Fire - Gordon Ramsayby
monkeymitchell30
Advantages: Informative & well written Disadvantages: none
...I am only five chapters into Gordon's latest serving - Playing With Fire. But I have to admit, I am hooked!
I read his first course - Humble Pie, when that first came out and was thoroughly mesmerised and amazed by his life story. To say he wasn't born with the success he has now is an understatement. This book carries on where Humble Pie left off, not far into his cooking career.
I am not going to spoil the book for those who haven't bought it yet, but I will say that if you are a fan of Gordon, either for his cooking skills, his wicked tongue or just his way of doing things, then this book is an absolute must for all Gordon fans! It is definately an education in the world of business and all things Ramsay. Oh, it does contain the odd swear word too!
I got this for Christmas so I didn't actually pay for it myself, but I believe most...
