    The thing you will immediately notice about this book is its tiny length. Far thinner than most DC collections, it manages to thrust a lot into a few scant pages. Set in an alternate world (an 'Elseworld', as DC like to call it), 'Gotham By Gaslight' sees the young Bruce Wayne orphaned in a Victorian - era Gotham. Without ruining the story for you, I can only say that it takes all of Bruce Wayne's formidable detective skills to find the man who murdered his parents - and is now stalking the streets of Gotham again.
