Gaskell's novels, but their treatment is revealingly different, ranging from ghost stories and comic fantasy, to a realistic tale of 17th-century witch trials.
Advantages: Story isn't too bad Disadvantages: An irritating writing style in my opinion
Mary Barton is the first of many books I have to read for my English degree course. It was written in 1848 by ElizabethGaskell and tells the story of Mary Barton and all those close to her as they struggle to survive in Industrialising Manchester.
Now being more into fast paced crime novels, informative historical fiction and chilling thought provoking mystery stories, Mary Barton was never going to be my cup of tea. I can however see how and why it would appeal to others, especially to those with a more classic taste in fiction or those who have a profound interest in the lives and times of people in hardship.
Mary Barton is a situational novel and at the beginning introduces us to two families the Barton's and the Wilson's. It is here that we learn that John Barton is a questioner of the distribution of wealth and has no ...
Advantages: Perfect for those with extra dry skin Disadvantages: Doesnt smell so good
I have extremely dry hands and in the winter it gets worse! I tryed everything i could get my hands on to try and curb the dryness!!
On a trip to get my usual bout of make up from elizabeth arden I was given a free tester of their new 8 hour cream, it was obviously the first thing i used when i got home to see if it worked.
And guess what...it did It doesnt last the whole 8 hours but it does last perfectly for about 4 hours (bearing mind nothing worked for even 5 minutes that id used before!!) So i was very pleased.
when my free sample ran out i went to buy somemore and it came in a huge bottle but was small enough to fit in my bag (bearing in mind im an oversized bag type of girl so if you are one of those people that uses a teeny weeny bag it may not be your best choice)
It was quite pricey at £29.99 but i was quite willing ...
Advantages: Works for a variety of skin problems, fixes all beauty problms Ive ever found.... Disadvantages: ...Is rather oily and does resember a squeezable version of vaseline
Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream, appears to feature in pretty much every beauty and fashion magazine I had ever owned ... So being a sucker for advertisement and word of mouth fantastic ratings from friends I thought I'd give it a whirl ....
..... I purchased this while working at Eurotunnel so I did get discount standard price in general isn't to pricey for what the product does, Never has it been truer you get what you pay for!!
The product is packaged in a simple but elegant white tube with an easy access screw lid - I personally love the understated design - Buying the smaller version myself so it fit in whatever handbag I would chose to carry, nights out or days out this is a versatile product which covers a variety of beauty faux pas'
A little of this product is more than enough ...by little I mean a miniscule amount ...

Manufacturer's product description
Elizabeth Gaskell's chilling Gothic tales blend the real and the supernatural to eerie compelling effect. 'Disappearances' inspired by local legends of mysterious vanishings mixes gossip and fact; 'Lois the Witch' a novella based on an account of the Salem witch hunts shows how sexual desire and jealousy lead to hysteria; while in The Old Nurse's Story a mysterious child roams the freezing Northumberland moors. Whether darkly surreal such as 'The Poor Clare' where an evil doppelganger is formed by a woman's bitter curse or mischievous like 'Curious if True' a playful reworking of fairy tales all the stories in this volume form a stark contrast to the social realism of Gaskell's novels revealing a darker and more unsettling style of writing.
