Graco Baby Delight Swing

As a new mother it was hard for me to know what my newborn wanted...
I became aware that my son was a baby that needed lots of comfort, in the first few months of his life he was always colicky and seemed to have constant griping pain, therefore me and my partner spent our evenings taking it in turns to hold our boy and rock/swing him to comfort him to sleep.
I said to my partner that i think our little one would benefit from a baby swing. After looking online at many websites for a swing we had realised that at the time, we just could not afford one.. Whilst out for a walk one day, i happen to notice a little second hand shop that sold used baby stuff and in the corner of this little shop, i spot the Graco Baby Delight Swing, it was only £16.00 so on a whim i bought it and went home straight away..

After feeding my boy i had the usual scream that indicated he had a tummy ache.. After burping him and giving him a dummy, i put him in the swing and within 5 minutes my gorgeous son was asleep!! I thought that finding this product in a tiny little second hand shop must have been just good karma!!

The frame of the chair is metal and has plastic feet on the bottom so is unlikely to damage any type of flooring. The chair itself is sturdy and has a soft, padded removable cover that is washable. The one i have is grey with green swirls and looks perfect in my living room. There are lots of different colours to chose from.
There is a mesh panel on either side of the chair to protect baby if they decide to put their arms or head out of the chair.. It has a 5 point harness on the chair that is adjustable for when baby gets older and has a 3 point recliner button on the back of the chair which is really easy to use.
The lowest setting of the recline is for newborns and gets higher and higher to an upright position. The swing has 2 speed settings, fast and slow, personally i put the swing on the higher fast setting at first and then once my boy is asleep i turn it down to the slower setting. The swing requires 4 Size C Batteries, which you can get rechargeable or buy disposable, to save money i would recommend spending a little more at first to buy the rechargeable ones if your child uses this swing as much as mine does!

Overall i think this chair is fantastic, and looking online to see how much it was after i bought it at £16.00 saw that in Babies R Us (The cheapest price i've found) was £44.99 and after knowing how good this product is, i would deffinately pay the retail price for this swing.
The one thing i think that would improve this swing is if it reclined more as its still slightly upright on the lowest reclined setting, so for newborns it would be more practical to take them out and lie baby flat once they are asleep but my 12 week old loves it and i would reccommend it to anyone, especially mothers and fathers who had the same problems we had!!
