The GT simulation disc is great. You start of with $10000 and buy a car. Then you race it and earn money. You can unlock new races with bigger Prize money by earning licenses. This feature is good, but some license tests are really hard. Although the game has great replay value due to so many customiseable car parts and the such, I found once you had the International A license (best standard license) making money was very easy. A certain track which offered a car and money to the value of $94000 which was the easiest track in the game (just a loop) destroyed the experience for me.
ARCADE DISK
This disc is shocking. It is just like any arcade racer, and has no real reason for playing it when you can play the simulation disc. the only cool thing is the option of importing cars from simulation mode, so you have supercharged cars. If this was standalone, It wouldn't sell.
GRAPHICS
The graphics in GT2 are great. You get a really good view of your car which has heaps of detail. The backgrounds look good while going 250MPH and you can even change the rims of the tires. Your car collects dust, and can be washed at a carwash (which does nothing apart from make your car shiny) Overall, great graphics.
SOUND
Sound ingame is great, with engines revving, tires screeching and collisions sounding real. The music ingame is below average, with only 2 songs that play. These songs are annoying with one of them being some classical thing which everybody hates, and the other being off of Fatboy Slim's CD. Over all, sound is Above average
ORIGINALITY
Points for cool gameplay with only one other PSX game being like this (GT1). The rally modes were something new although not that special. Overall, Good

Advantages: A deep, involving game. An excellent concept executed very well. Easily the best game on the Playstation / PSOne. Disadvantages: The Playstation enforces unfortunate shortcomings upon it.
Advantages: HD support for gaming, films in the shape of blu ray and sound. Along with a free online service. Disadvantages: Downloading can take up hard drive space quickly.
