Before i start please bare in mind this is a just glorified demo of not a full game, so dont expect the world!
I picked up a copy of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue on release day after being a loyal fan of the series and blown away by the level of detail gone into the game. With 4 different classes to try and pass there is plenty to keep you occupied with. Im a fan of racing games and generaly race in the view inside the car and the detail of normal is minimal but GT5 prollouge take it to the next level. You can clearly see the time and effort put into making the cars as accurate as they could in and out of the car. Even the tracks seem to of been made inch perfect to their real life counter-parts. Only problem is that there is only 6 tracks, but these can be reversed to make you get a further 6 'new' tracks.
But enough of the detail! true race fans want fun exciting realistic racing, and that excatly what you get with this game. From slow, small cars to mighty DB9's and R8's , with over 60 cars there will be a perfect car waiting for you in the game. The racing feels amazing and you will always have to concentrate on the road ahead.
Online makes its debut in prologue with up to 16 players but I was rather dispointed with this feature. I love to test my skill against friends and other psn users but you dont get to choose you you race with in prologue which was big let down. Also you will be ganranted to get a crafty cheat in you race which lets the experience down for everyone racing.
A new feature added is Gran Turismo TV. When I first saw this feature i was very excited but for me it just turned out to be an un needed extra which i barely use.
Crash damage is not included in the game which is a big disapointment for me. I would like to see my driving skills rewarded with and nice clean car and my moments of madness punished with damage to the car. With luck, hopefully the game will be updated this year and include crash damage but there is no comfirmation on this I believe
Altogether this game is a great taster of things to come in Gran Turismo 5. Don't be fooled though, this game is a clear way of the develpers to try and get some more money from their loyal customers. I would of prefered more tracks and modes but then I realise it is basicly just a demo! You will get many hours out of this game but it can get boring when you have to repeat the same track over again with the car you do not like using, but with unlockable cars and extras you will be coming back for more!

I read a long time ago that the reason they don't have crash damage is because of the car manufacturers objecting to it, so I doubt there will be in GT5 sadly. Still, it seems to shaping up well if this is anything to go by, though I wouldn't splash out on the Prologue titles after GT Concept robbed me of my cash awhile back :) tom
