You are the manager of a formula one racing team (one of your choosing) and you mage all aspects throughout the season like selecting your drivers and researching in the various departments for engines, gears, brakes, electronics, and obviously the more you invest the greater performance will be achieved in the chosen part, but invest too much and you will soon go bankrupt.
Good Points
----------------- ...most certainly like this game, if you invest the time the learning curve is reletavly short and once you get the hang of the different aspects of the game and you like management sims you will be immersed. Freedom to hire and fire managers, drivers, mechanics, commercial people etc and tweaking the different parts ie spoilers ride height, angles here and angles there.

Overview ------------ You are the manager of a formula one racing team (one of your choosing) and you mage all aspects throughout the season like selecting your drivers and researching in the various departments for engines, gears, brakes, electronics, and obviously the more you invest the greater performance will be achieved in the chosen part, but invest too much and you will soon go bankrupt.
Good Points ----------------- If you are a formula one fan you will most certainly like this game, if you invest the time the learning curve is reletavly short and once you get the hang of the different aspects of the game and you like management sims you will be immersed. Freedom to hire and fire managers, drivers, mechanics, commercial people etc and tweaking the different parts ie spoilers ride height, angles here and angles there. Testing the car to find the best set up for each venue is time consuming but very addictive if you are that way inclined.
Bad Points --------------- Not alot really i mean if you like formula one and sims you can't go far wrong but perhaps the only thing that is a little (and i mean very little) is the actual race, the view you get is from above looking down on the whole track and your tiny two cars, but as i said that is nothing really.
If you are looking for a driving action type game then this won't be for you (no pretty graphics n stuff) but on the other hand if you like sims and paying attention to detail you really can get totally imersed in this game.
the game is very cheap now, you can get it for about 5-10 pounds, also there is two or three patches (uk and us) available on the net to upgrade the game
System Requirements ------------------------------ 486 DX-33 MHz or higher, Min 8Mb memory, MS-DOS 5.0 or later, Windows 3.1 or higher, Hard drive required, Double speed CD-ROM drive or faster, SVGA video graphic card, Microsoft mouse and 100% compatibles.
Advantages: Lots to do Disadvantages: Poor sounds and graphics can get boring especially if you keep on going bankrupt by being a low team
Microsofts GPM2 is an oldish game it is improved upon from GPM1 it is set in the 1996 season and you are the manager of any F1 team that you choose. This game is hard at first as you will need to test each track and get the set up for each one, then the setups will have to bee changed for each driver. All of the drivers of the 96 season are there except for Jack Villnerve, cus he does not want to be in games not of his choosing. You have to take control of all aspects of the team from design to PR and sponsors, this gives you a lot of stuff to learn and the manual explanes all of the things that you need to know. The graphics for this game are no all that good but that is not important as your mind is taken up on how to squeze extra milliseconds out of the lap time. The game is played in 256 colour mode and is best played in 640X480 as ...
Advantages: Cheap Disadvantages: Poor games with horrific graphics, poor gameplay, limited fun factor, short-lived
The PSX has never attracted me. It's games with poor graphics and little realism, its box-like shape and its rediculous expensive turned me towards the good-old practicle PC. As well as playing the best games available on the PC, you can also do your homeowkr and surf the net. The only exception to this rule is the Gran Tourismo series which disappointingly never game out on the PC. But Microprose's GrandPrix series has never appeared in stores for the PSX, nor has Championship Manager, the best football managing game in the world!
The peripherals available on a Playstation are limited also - the steering wheels are cheap, nasty c..rubbish, joysticks are unavailable and the gamepads are far from impressive.
You may argue the money factor.
