Grand theft auto is finally here and was very highly rated as the play station 3 top seller and rightly so as this game is amazing, graphics, story, game play, online (sort of) ... everything I just brilliant. You your still not convinced about GTA 4 read on... all 5 of you.
Story
The story is GTA 4 is very very well done, though not a drama it still has its funny, sad shocking and serious moments that really make you want to watch each cinematic and see what happens in your mission. Basically you play as Nikko Bellic, a Russian immigrant that has come to live in America with his cousin, in his 'mansion' which you finds out is a dirty apartment. Then comes the life of crime which is GTA 4 is best known for. You go killing gangsters, dug dealers, police, business men, then theres steeling cars, assassination missions, car chases, drive bys and much much more. You meet a whole load of different characters such as mob bosses, their men, cousins girl friend and many other funny characters.
Game play
The
game play of GTA 4 has been greatly improved with a new shooting mechanic, new driving simulation, new game modes, an online and basically the whole game.
well lets start with the shooting, the shooting now has a cover system which is very intelligent in which you can hide behind anything from cars, walls, buildings, trees etc, etc, etc. you again have an auto aim apart from this time you can move your aimer around the targets body, you also this time look over Nikko’s shoulder which is new from the central camera screen and lastly there is a zoom in mode which allows you to go past Nikko and the gun and fully see the action. Lastly with the new shooting is that by flicking the left and right toggles you can change target.
Driving has been very much improved with the fact that you now make better acceleration and deceleration as this time you’ve got the R2 and L2 buttons to change your speed much more accurately. The cars also feel a lot more real with drifting, swerving and a very well done real time car damage which shows how the car is affected when it hits different objects. Also with driving you very very easily shoot out the window taking down the police and other gangsters
There are a whole load of new variety in GTA 4, this time apart from all the shooting there are a lot more... legal activates you can do such as dating, jobs such as taxi driving, mini games and even racing. Dating is where you meet the girl ever through a friend or in an internet cafe and then try and take them to restaurants, shows etc then get rewarded at the end ;). Jobs are well done, these are mainly jobs for your cousin or your friends but they get you money for guns, ammo, cloths etc. mini games are almost worth £10 as you can play darts, pool, bowling, fighting and more. Lastly racing which is unlocked later on in the game where you street race for money. This is well done but no gran turismo 5.
Another new game play method is a mobile phone in which you can call and message all your friends etc. call the police, ambulance, taxis etc. this is also where you get to multiplayer. The mobile phone can take pictures and activate cheats by putting in a number.
Graphics
The Graphics in GTA 4 are the most brilliant I have ever seen in a free roam game and even some FPS. The fact that there is very little screen tearing or screen popping. Everything is very highly detailed from buildings to people to cars to inside buildings and so much more. The characters all though not as good as the cinematic are very good with you actually being able to see what they would look like in real life. also the fact that you will see the same person twice about every 12 hours, there is so much variety like different tops, trousers, faces, face colour, hair, nose, mouths and so so much more.
Cinematic
The cinematic are very good, though no resident evil 5 or gears of war where the cinematic are like a mini movie are very well done. Lip sink is done moderately well and facial expression is good enough to tell happiness, angry, sad etc. the cinematic are very different to the game play as you can see a lot more detail and realism. Characters are diverse and well done making you feel for these characters with again expression.
Online Multiplayer
I was not a big fan of GTAs online, it felt to unorganised and messy as the whole of liberty city is available for shooting mayhem. This is not my idea of fun unless done well which I don’t think GTA did. in the online their are health packs instead of call of duty’s health regeneration, gun pick ups instead of gun selection and some rough controls that are hard in heavy fire. Good things are that you can have police on, people on and cars on so that it is a living breathing city. Lastly you can customize you character, not a great variety of consumes, faces etc but still something that call of duty doesn’t.
Overall
GTA 4 is a brilliant game that must be said could have been better (only for the online) but the campaign is what I bought it for and everyone who is thinking of getting it will think the same. But for all 18+ teens (a lot of 18 plus quality’s) you must get it, I think it’s better than saints row just because it is a lot more real and serious. I give GTA 4 9.5 out of ten purely because of the online could of been better.

Nice review - you might want to try writing in Word the using spell check - copy and paste the review on to Ciao as there are a few errors which are easily fixed.

Advantages: Arguably the best selection of games of any current console. Great HD graphics. Disadvantages: Hardware may still be somewhat unreliable. Lacks innovations specific to the Wii and PS3.
