This Grand theft auto really takes a step forward from the others, the graphics are amazing, if you look at the cars they have so much detail in unbelieveable and when you hit other cars the damage to the cars is much more realistic now and now if you damage the car to much the engine will cut off and when you accelerate it will just keep trying to turn the engine on which is quite cool.
The way you walk and other pedestrians walk is much more realistic now too, the way you drive is more realistic its quite hard to get used to on the old games you could go round corners really fast but on this you have to slow down for them otherwise you wont make the corner, which is good because its more realistic but you could say its not as fun. You can also activate headlights in the car now which is quite cool.
You can now do other things on the game like bowling, darts, go out to eat, go to clubs and go to cabaret and more. You can even get a girlfriend, the other thing on this game is that you have to keep relationships up with your friends and girlfriends (yes you can have more then one girlfriend at a time). Which is annyoing when you are trying to do something and you get a friend ringing you saying they want to go and play darts.
You play as a character called niko that is an immigrant having moved to new york to find a job and a new life as his cousin said it was the place to be, but now niko has moved there he isnt so sure.
The storyline is quite good, you have to complete missions to get more parts of the map and then you can visit places like the statue of liberty, i'd say the missions are a bit harder then the previous games, and there are loads more side missions like racing cars, picking up cars and taking them to garages and meeting lots of people.
im not so sure about the online of this game, i like the free mode when you just get all your friends in and mess around but as for the all the other things i dont really like them and cant get into playing them.
THE THINGS I LIKE ABOUT THE GAME: Great graphics radio stations when your in the car when you crash cars the detail of damage is really good online free mode with friends can be really funny not a bad price now its gone down
THINGS I DONT LIKE ABOUT THE GAME: online multiplayer isnt very good really annoying when you can't complete a mission

overall this is a good game worth buying if you havent tried it, the graphics are outstanding and its really fun game.
