franchise. The game features several new elements and revolves around three cities - Los Santos (based on Los Angeles) San Fierro (based on San Francisco) and Las Venturas (based on Las Vegas). Each city is relatively the size of Vice City - making it clear what the magnitude of the game is. Some of the new elements in this game include four-person drivebys house break-ins and robberies character abilities such as eating and swimming and more. The visual effects have also been improved with things like real-time reflections fully rendered interior environments and new camera controls. The storyline set in the early 90s centres on Carl Johnson a man who escaped from the pressures of life in Los Santos San Andreas five years ago. Now Carl's got to go home and on his return to the neighbourhood he is framed for homicide.

The phone is ringing. You have 30 seconds to pick up. Only trouble is you can't find the damn thing. Your car is trashed and so are most of the ones that you have passed along that route. The cops are chasing you and your boss is gonna kick your ass. You have just crashed into the fantastic world of Grand Theft Auto.

There are many ways to collect such missions. There are the phones that are located in a particular place, depending upon what city you are in (each city has a few levels and then, once those are completed you move onto the next city). - There are generally a few phones next to one another and after each mission they tell you to go back there for the next mission. - Once you have completed those missions (one per phone) you are either given some more through pager messages (keep your eye on these throughout the game, I find it is well worth writing down the messages so that I can refer to them later when I need another mission. They are to be seen at the top left of the screen). - or you can find them by trawling the streets to see whether there are any suspect looking cars hanging around (you will quickly pick up on what looks suspect and what doesn't although there are some that are WELL hidden!).
At each level you have to make a certain amount of money to proceed to the next part. On the first level that is 1,000,000 and then second it is 2,000,000. YOu make money from successful missions and also you make a little bit here and there from stealing cars, killing pedestrians and policemen as well as $20 or so from bumping hard into cars.
Be careful though, there are many ways to lose. - you can be caught by the cops - you lose all your weapons - you can blow yourself up by continuing to drive a car that is very badly bumped. - you can be run over, fall into the water and be shot. You only have so many lives although there are some extra ones lurking around.
Which brings me neatly round to the next thing. Weapons, extra lives, police bribes, get out of jail free cards and armour are all available to you - you just have to find them. There are boxes on the pavements every so often and if you drive into them or shoot at them (if on foot) then you can open them and take what is inside (providing you haven't got too much already).
Different cars do different speeds and deteriorate at different rates. Don't think that just cos a car is ultra fast it will help you - they can often be a hindrance cos they are harder to control on those busy roads.
There are docks, spray shops and bomb shops dotted around the city for you to use: - Docks - some of the docks have people who will give you money for your cars. If you take cars to them, remember to get pout of the car as soon as you have driven it in cos otherwise you will be stuck. You can take as many cars to them as you like but remember, the more cars you steal the more likely it willbe to get the cops after you. KNow where the nearest spray shop is just to be on the safe side. - Spray shops - these are great for mending a very badly bumped car but more importantly they are there to help you escape from the cops. As soon as you go in, the cops will stop following you, your car will be restored (often a new colour) and you wil only be a little out of pocket. - Bomb shops - you are sent to these to either arm or disarm a bomb in a car. Simple as that.
My only complaints are -
the vagueness of the maps - the spray shops are pin-pointed rather vaguely, so it is difficult to know exactly where you are looking.
it is not possible to save the game half-way through the levels. You either have to give up or be willing to go in for the long haul
On the flip side this game is GREAT value for money, you can play for literally days, driving round and round and round cities loosely based on some of the most infamous in the US.
Did I miss anything>?????? I don't know - did I mention that I liked it???????? Did I mention that it is totally addictive????????
Advantages: excelent game, never get bord of it. Disadvantages: if your used to using a controller then it can be a bit difficult swaping over to a key board.
...now though.
In grand theft auto, you have to hijack vehicles and then drive around the city looking for jobs in order to earn points and finish the level,
While you are diving around the city you can also drive over innocent pedestrians smash in to other cars and motorbikes, any thing that is on the road and then engage your self in a high-speed car chase with the police.
You can also get out of your car and go on a mad killing spree with your ... ...easily get more ammo just by shooting at or driving over the boxes which are placed on the side walks nearly every where.
If you get bored of playing the missions then you can just drive around the city and go to the docks where you can sell the cars you steal for quite a lot of money.
My favourite part of the game is being chased by the police, I love watching them making their futile attempts to stop me as I ram through their small roadblocks ...

Advantages: Fast, exciting, better than stress balls for relieving aggression. Disadvantages: If you don't like violence don't play this.
...the actual death or imprisonment. Grand Theft Auto came out in 1997 and has an 18 certificate due to its rude and violent nature. I vaguely remember a bit of a fuss about it at the time but naturally that only served to sell more copies.
As the game begins you have to choose from four male and four female characters and enter a name. The object of the game is to reach a certain number of points as this allows you to progress to the next stage. There ... ...of them are criminal. The view during gameplay is from above and maps (provided with the game) are useful for getting around. Graphics are partially sacrificed for playability. There is a variety of useful info on the screen which will tell you how you are doing - top left of the screen is your pager (jobs and personal messages), top middle of the screen is the name of the area you are in and your wanted level (represented by moaning cop heads), ...

...and said "let me see, Grand - good, theft - stealing, Auto - cars. This game is implying that it is good to steal cars, so therefore you are not having it". I was very upset buy this and got really upset and just moped around sulking. But anyway three years on I got this game from electronics boutique for a five pounds. Enough talk here is my review on it. The basic idea of the game is to steal cars, run people over, blow things up and complete missions. ... ...of characters. You can name your character whatever you want. Calling the character certain names will unlock various cheats in the game. There are three different cities. Each city has two levels. Each level is big and complex. You start off each level with three lives and three lives for being arrested. To complete a level you need to get so much money. You get money from completing missions and generally blowing every thing up. The missions are ...

Advantages: great fun, addictive, instant replayability Disadvantages: no save option during a level is annoying
This is one game that has a stupendously high level of re playability. It’s addictive and fun, and absolutely brilliant when you’re in a particularly foul mood. When the game first arrived, there were a few who thought it should be banned, but not so much so that the blood of your hapless victims had to be turned green (i.e. as in Carmageddon). The basic plot of the game is that you’re some guy, or girl(albeit a seemingly lesbian one from some of ... ...crony, or whatever. And basically, the big guys tell you what to do, and you do it and get points(if you do it well). And once you’ve reached a certain amount of points you get a call to go see some guy, and the level will end(when you go see the guy). Sounds thrilling don’t it just not?
But that’s just my bad writing technique! The real fun starts when you play it for yourself. It’s a top down view on a city(there’s 3 sprawling cities for you to ...

The first grandtheftauto that was any good,
When I first played this I was amazed at the bang up to date graphics and game play I as we all were was used to the 2d tedious game play of the earlier games.
The graphics engine is a lot better although they kept what made the older games popular, and that was do what ever the hell you want! Same as the older games you run around shooting innocent people, Steal cars, and work for gangsters but this has the graphics to really drag you in to the world of liberty city, it was in my opinion the best game when it came out only being beaten by GrandTheftAuto Vice City, When they finally released it about a year later.
In the game you still play a mute like the older games the main character never talks, however this only creates room for the other characters and theirs lots of them ...
Advantages: Yet more GTA3 gameplay, value for money Disadvantages: No multiplayer, some technical issues
I loved the previous games in this series and have played them all, from the original top-down GrandTheftAuto on the DOS-based PC with the add-on packs through to GTA 2 and the current trilogy, the GTA 3 trilogy.
My first recommendation is that, if you haven't already played any of the previous GrandTheftAuto 3 games (the original GTA3 or Vice City), then it would be best to start off with those games for two main reasons. The first is that the games do get significantly better as you get further on in the trilogy (and GTA3 is still a damned good game) and the second is that by jumping straight into San Andreas, you'll miss out on all the nice little in-jokes.
You're Carl Johnson, an ex-gang member who has recently returned to San Andreas from Liberty City for your mother's funeral. As you travel from the airport to your ...

As i drove i found a police car behind .. so i thought i will ram into it and i did... then there was the chase ... me riding as fast as i could... kept going.. i kept going till the FBI started following me.. then i got out of my car and started to leg it and i found a "COP BRIBE" so i ...
