City. Grandma may not approve, but the 143 million people who boughtGTA IIIwill be chomping at the bit for this follow-up. Not quite a full-blown sequel, but far more than the average lazy mission disk,Vice Cityrelocates the action of the previous game from the New York-esque Liberty City to the Miami-influenced metropolis of the title. And clearly as soon as someone mentioned Miami the developers immediately thought ofMiami Vice, because they've gone and set the whole thing in 1986 with an incredible soundtrack featuring everyone from Michael Jackson to Sigue Sigue Sputnik. As the game starts you take control of Tommy Vercetti (voiced byGoodfellasstar Ray Liotta) who gets involved in a bungled drug deal and must set himself up from scratch as a crime boss. Unlike inGTA III, you're not restricted to being a small-time hood any more; the game now allows you to purchase property (porn studios, strip clubs, cab companies and so on) and run extortion rackets, which cleverly widens the scope of the game while keeping the controls and gameplay pretty much the same. Which means that you still spend the majority of your time driving cars very dangerously and shooting and maiming anyone that happens to get in your way. Indeed, in most respects the game is very similar to its predecessor--the graphics, for example, are improved but hardly groundbreaking--though there are numerous minor additions, most notably the chance to ride motorbikes--which is particularly satisfying--and fly proper aircraft.Vice Citycan't be recommended unreservedly though: if you're intending to buy this game for someone under 18, you really should think again, as it's violent, filled with sex and swearing, and is totally and utterly immoral. Which is why it's guaranteed to sell and sell. --David Jenkins

To a certain extent I do not think I was disappointed. Jet skis, more boats, helicopters, planes, the ability to swim, more cars, that 80's greatness that was in Vice City combined with all the qualities of Liberty City Stories. However, there were just a few glitches that made this game fall in my estimation. So disappointed by this.
----- Story line -----
1984 on the islands of Vice City. The City is emerging and growing, fuelled by the violent power struggle in the lucrative drugs trade. Construction is everywhere and a shining metropolis rises from the foundations of crime and betrayal. Former solider Vic Vance (Older brother of Lance Vance from GTA Vice City), kicked out of the army through his corrupt sergeant, has always protected his family and now must do this through crime … or is killed in the process.
As Vic, you must build you empire in all aspects of the underworld, from Prostitution to robbery. Build and protect your businesses whilst performing missions, collecting packages, performing rampages, gaining the trust of others and killing those who go against you. It is up to you to rise through the ranks and become the ultimate leader of the Vice City Empire … whilst keeping your gung-ho brother under close watch.
----- Graphics -----
Once again the same can be said about VCS as was said about LCS. (please look at the review for more detail) Of course the graphics are not going to be the same on a Portable console as it is on a much more powerful household console. The same can be said about this but the feel and the overall ability to keep in with the series is perfect. Very well done and keeps up nicely with all those other PSP games that have good graphics.
----- Game play -----
So simple to put up and play, especially if you have played any games in the series before. However the small glitches that I will explain later, make it so much more frustrating when playing this game than LCS and all the other games in the series. It still is very simple to play. The controls are easy to remember and the camera angles allow you to choose something that suits your style of gaming. However this little glitches, which do not seem a very big deal become very annoying and sometimes can cause you to fail a mission.
----- Multiplayer -----
You can have deathmatchs between up to 6 people, where you can create teams to fight between as rival gangs. These deathmatchs can vary from simple killings to other games like capture the flag. It is so fun having the opportunity to go through the game with your mates and it is brilliant for a good 15 or 20 minutes of joyous shooting. There are the usual problems associated with the wireless that I have experienced on all the games I have played on the PSP, such as the slowing down of the game and certain little glitches that can occur. But overall this is a great feature and I am glad they have re-introduced this in this game.
----- Additions from LCS -----
These are the major additions, of which I think are all so much better and add a lot more to the game:
Swimming - Yes you can swim (only limitedly but yes you can), allowing you to make those quick escapes from the police as well as from exploding boats.
Helicopters and Planes - In this game the airport is much bigger and you can actually buy helicopters later in the game that is a nice touch. This allows you to travel around much quicker - which are sometimes what you need when you empire is being attack on the other side of the city.
More boats - You can choose from many more boats In this game which allows you too travel in a much more varied way.
More depth - More extras to complete and more missions to do. All this leads to the game being better than before and much more long lasting.
----- Those Glitches -----
I say Glitches but it's more like Glitch for me. Now I will explain the situation. As you can remember from the previous Vice City, there are many opportunities to build up along of speed on the roads, travelling from one end of the island to the other. In the old game this did happen but because the system was much better suited to fast movement it was able to cope better. Now when you do do this, all the graphics and better textures on the buildings, other cars and surroundings are lost. This basically means that you can see underneath all the detail that would appear when all is well. This may not seem that bad but when you are travelling this fast it is difficult to swerve and move, especially when the obstacles disappear and change shape because of the removal of the rendering. This means that you crash a lot and also hit a lot of other cars, which can cause you a lot of other problems (i.e. police chasing you and being shot at by enemies)
This does make me wonder if all those extra little details that they have added to this game have caused this, of whether its just the processing speed of the PSP. Either way this, in my opinion, seriously damages the playability of the game that Rockstar are famed so much for.
Maybe I am just being harsh, but I don't know. I really did think that this made me so frustrated and took a lot away from the game.
----- Final Conclusion -----
I have to say I did enjoy playing this game. All the extra little details add so much to the game. However I am not sure whether this was worth it. I think that the glitches that this may have occurred have taken much if not all of the bonuses away. Still this is a very good game; sadly it is probably a slight step backward in game play from LCS even for all its detail. 8/10

...me! Secondly! I love all Grand Theft Auto games! I have played them since GTA 1 and had every version since, even the Gameboy advance version (and that was pants!).
BUT… I am rubbish at them since they became 3D. Don't get me wrong, they are still amazing, but I just suck at them. I get to a mission I find hard then stop playing. ...lover. One thing with the grand theft auto (GTA) is that the game is based on real life events and environments which include real cars you use today, the environments are in today and so on. So the game is not based on much myth rather it is based on what you see and experience today in your every day life. So this actual gives the real life authenticity.
The game is of good value for money, in my own case, I bought mine at Amazon. Uk and at the ...

Rockstars 2nd attempt at a GTA psp title does not dissapoint...let round 2 commence.
Vice City Stories is set in the 1980s and acts as a prequel to the popular PS2 installement that is GTA Vice City. The same basic controls that feautred in the previous game are here. The camera has been improved however is not withouts its flaws as there are some instances where you will often be shot by a guy behind you who you cant see. On the whole the controls ...

Advantages: The Greatest So Far Disadvantages: Some very difficult Missions
Rockstar games have really excelled this time producing in my opinion the greatest PSP game so far and of course this follows a whole load of success with the GTA series from the very first micro dote game to this latest addition.
The game for those who are not familiar with the GTA (Grand Theft Auto) series then here is a brief description of what to expect not for the easily offended.
GTA is a Shooter / RPG game which has many different story ... ...Steal, Murder, Intimidate and just about every other crime there is to carry out to become the number one crime lord in Vice City and its assosiated islands which are unlockable as you prgress through the game.
Whilst carrying out hundreds of missions you steal and drive Cars, Bikes, Planes, Boats and even BMX and Helicopters.
Killing maiming and generally causing havoc on your way.
Add to this little mix the police, FBI, SWAT and even the Army ...
