When the play station portable was released I was not that anxious on getting the game because I never had much interest on hand games in general rather I prefer playing TV connected ones.
All of a sudden I thought I was missing some thing and I went on for the game. It was later that I realized that this is just more than a hand game. The first and the most interesting game that I played was FIFA 2007 and picked up interest in the game without being told and started playing games on it.
I then got this and concentrated on it too and started the vice city mission journey. But the thing that made me choose this as my favourite among all the GTA previous installations was the 1980's great setting which include the cars, the helicopters, the dress code of those days, the 1980's environments and buildings. So with all these provisions, the game will be unique and fun.
The game comes up with great story line of the 80"s settings of island of vice city that is dominated with bandits of strong drug dealers which raked the vice city. Former soldier Vic Vance brought out an army through his corrupt sergeant and did every thing possible to protect his family through crime or give up the ghost. So he needed to protect his family by all means.
The most exiting of all is that you move as Vic and expected to play wise by defending your self by crime, robbery and so on. But your major mission objective is to protect your businesses, collecting packaging, winning the minds of others as well as others winning your mind and killing your enemies as usual they are people that go against your business policies. Also a great challenge awaits you and that is you fighting to be the ultimate leader of the gang of the vice city.
The game play is some thing easy to understand including some factors like the controller, the camera and so on. The controller is very easy to understand and the camera enables you to chose the angle that suites you in the game.
The graphics does not have much difference to compare to other installations but you don't compare with the large consoles but they all have almost the same graphics. But from the summary of every thing about the graphics; it is fantastic as usual with PSP games.
The sound is not that very loud and this is the reason why I still prefer the large house hold consoles because it has large sound output put. But in portable consoles, the sound does not have much output unless you use an earpiece. The sound very faint and low and some times you tend not to hear some of the talks. But all the same it is still a very brilliant game.
Feature like the multiplayer is also made available. The multiplayer mode is also of great fun in the sense that you can create teams to fight as rivals. You fight to get in touch of the white flag and you can equally have up to 15 minutes shooting but some times the game tends to slow down and this could be annoying when it occurs.
There are other additional features that keep the game longevity on going. Features like swimming that enable you to run away from rivals like your enemies and policemen as well is made possible.
You can equally buy some mobile products like planes and this makes you to travel faster around. You can also use boats as a source of mobility by going to your missions and getting out of sites from your enemies as well as cops.
There are other features that keep this particular installation far ahead from others like extra and more mission objectives.
THE FLAWS. For those that have played the previous installations, you tend to notice some changes in the game. In the previous installation, while you are speeding with cars and other moving object, every thing seem to be seen very clearly like the environments, which include buildings, human beings and other factors that make up the environment. You tend to be seeing every thing clearly no matter the speed you are in. but one thing that has made this one different from the previous ones is that while in speed with your car, all environment including buildings, cars and human beings tend to disappear. This could be confusing in most cases where making turning difficult. When you are about to turn, the obstacle tends to disappear.
This then shows that you can foresee the next object before you arrive in that particular spot. This is a real graphic error and makes the game difficult and confusing but I hope this get corrected in the next installation.
MY THOUGHTS. This is a very good game that you must buy if you are the action game lover. One thing with the grand theft auto (GTA) is that the game is based on real life events and environments which include real cars you use today, the environments are in today and so on. So the game is not based on much myth rather it is based on what you see and experience today in your every day life. So this actual gives the real life authenticity.
The game is of good value for money, in my own case, I bought mine at Amazon. Uk and at the price of£ 12.99.
