Advantages: Good upgrade from 8800gt, better fps, slighty better graphics Disadvantages: Overheating is somtimes a problem for crashing and freezing the game but good fans should solve th
I purchased this card when I upgraded from my 8800gt, I didnt think there was going to be much of an improvement from the 8800gt but i was surprised, my games ran at around an extra 15fps .and graphics looked slightly better and when running on DX-10 seemed even smoother then the 8800gt.
The only downside is the card gets hot (fast).. especially when running power intensive games such as Crysis or call of duty 4 which cause the game to somtimes ...
Advantages: Transforms the PCs performance, smooth running, good looking games Disadvantages: Took a while to install, required spec on packaging doesn't match website
...came to the conclusion that PNY and NVIDIA were names to look out for. I was surprised by the lack of choice in PCI graphics cards on Dabs and Ebuyer so bought my card from an eBay shop for just over £50 delivered which was at the time the cheapest I could find. In the package was the card itself, a driver CD, a case sticker, an S-Video cable, a DVI-VGA adapter should you need one, and a very basic and universal install guide. The only strange thing ... ...the required specs on the PNY website of a 300W PSU and P3 CPU.
After recently installing a new PSU and CPU I was confident in my ability to install the card, after all it's just a matter of pushing it into a slot and tightening a screw. My mobo has three PCI slots and slot three was being taken up by a Firewire card, so I installed the graphics card in slot one to allow a bit of space between them as I knew it was likely to generate a considerable ...
Advantages: good performance, cheap, plays latest games. Disadvantages: can't get perfect settings, gets quite warm.
I bought this card as a big upgrade to my 8400gs, the 8400 didn't play games very well, and i was considering getting crysis and so it seemed appropriate to buy a more powerful card, and although i needed something more powerful i dind't want to pay more than £100, i managed to find this for £90, so it seemed an ideal candidate. After getting it home i was dissapointed to find that it was basically just a rebranded 8800GT, but either way i dind't ... ...which, when i did some research was a pretty good deal. looking at the specs its got an ok amount of memory with 512mb, a clock speed of 600mhz and a memory clock speed of 1800mhz. when you compare these specs to more expensive cards they pale a little but when i put it to the test i was pleasently suprised. The first thing i tested was crysis, and being confident i cranked it up to 1280 X 1024, not the highest of resolutions but i made up for it ...
Advantages: elegant and has a strong performance Disadvantages: High price

This card is a PCI-E x16(pci-express) so make sure your mother board is PCI-E compatible. Also if you decide to buy 2 7600GS's you can put them in an 'SLI' formation so they run in tandom, but again if you decide to do this make sure your mobo has is SLI ready. Also on the back there is a DVI and d-sub connection for people with older monitors. ... ...a dsub moinitor you can plug it into this and it will fit in a dvi slot, usually these little adapters are around £10 if you buy them separatly so this is very handy.
The fact that the card is only passive (no fan) means that it will make no noise at all, which is always good especially if you want to make a very quiet rig. On the downside this limits its overclocking ability as higher clock speeds means more heat and the passive heatsink wont be ...
