Grave Peril sees the return of the sedutive red-court vampire Bianca, who we last saw in Storm Front, assuring the hero wizard Harry Dresden that he would regret what he did in her manor. And boy, she wasn't wrong.
The plot is relitively straight forward. Big bad ghosts are springing up all over Chicago, so Harry Dresden and his friend, the Knight of The Cross, Michael, run around all night getting rid of them. But on the exocism ... ...that Bianca is back in Grave Peril, but we meet many main characters which occur in the rest of the series.
There is Michael, the Knight of the Cross who has a blessed sword which contains a nail from Jesuss crucifix, and believes he fights against evil in the name of the Lord, who he appears to talk to. Also, there is Mavra, evil and very obviously dead Black Court vampire and sourcer, who casues a lot of trouble for Dresden throughout the rest ...
