Advantages it works-sort of -read review

Disadvantages smells like a 1970s bad aftershave

Review summary
read this before you buy grecian 2000 foam. it's a true account from one bloke whos been using it & his advice to others out there who are thinking of taking the plunge

after being out for a night & talking to a few women, the conversation turned to what age we all were, (i've just just turned 40, which never bothered me at all)

when it came to guessing my age the women said 47, 51, 'late 40s' .....now....i was taken aback to be honest as i never thought of myself looking older than i was -just my real age would be fine

i asked them why they thought i was older looking than my real age & all said (waving thier hands around their heads) 'you've got that grey hair thing going on at the sides of your head' etc

just to make sure i'd understood, i asked was it my face/wrinkles etc etc that made them say what they'd said & all said 'no' it was only the grey & 'everthing else looked good' -which was fine by me!

i do take pride in my appearence not in a vain way (takes me 10-15 mins to get ready) but whats the point in looking smart/cool clothes etc when the most obvious thing-the elephant in the room- is your greying hair!

so for the next few days these comments kept bugging me a little & i decided to have a look at what was out there to cover grey

the most obvious was 'just for men' but reading the instructions & having to do a patch test put me off -having an allergic reaction isn't appealing at all, so i looked at a few others & came across grecian 2000 foam, read the instructions & no patch test was needed & the 'covering grey gradually' appealed

plus there's no lead in the uk formula (unlike the US version)

so i decided give grecian 2000 foam a go

the instructions are pretty simple -shake the bottle, & put a few golf ball sizes on just washed (but dried) hair & comb through - do this everyday until you get the colour your happy with then once or twice a week to keep it at that colour -sound simple right?

well...first things first -it smells like a bad 1970s old spice or brut aftershave -thats fine if your in your 70s & wear that smell as an aftershave but not a 40 year old who likes a clean fresh smell

i only needed it on the sides of my hair -so thought this would make it even simpler -plus my hair is blond -on the darker scale

so.. i put it on only to have it run down the side of my face & behind my ear, so i used a paper towel to remove this, i then let it dry on it's own.

it darkens slightly straight away which is always a good sign

anyway.. later that night after coming from tescos etc i noticed that there where a few brown patches of dye on the side of my head, ontop of my ears etc

talk about feeling stupid -walking about tescos looking like this etc -so wasn't a bit happy!!!

so the next day i put more on but this time used a hair dryer to dry it before i went out, this seemed to help disappate the smell too which was much better -that night there didnt seem to be any brown stains -so i continued for about a week, & the grey hair was being blended nicely

at the end of the first week (without washing my hair) i noticed a build up of product on my hair, where my natural hair was also getting darker -not what i really wanted -but continued

i woke up day 8 & looked at the arm of my white top where i had my head resting when i noticed that the colour had came off -& it looked like the residue of womens make-up--this wasn't good, so i decided to wash my hair (with mild baby shampoo) to remove the residue

when i put my head under the shower the water turned brown!

Good review but lacking details of price and where to buy from. You could also use capital letters at the start of a sentence and full stops at the end, other than that nice review. Welcome to Ciao :-)
