A brown jar with gold writing, this can usually be found in the Organic section. I buy mine from Tesco. The package is simple, but has a 'quality' ... ...Green & Blacks product.
Taste
I use this a lot in the restaurant, and everyone loves this brand, it tastes far more rich than most of the other offerings available. The taste is warm and akin to rich belgian chocolate (or indeed, Green & Blacks regular chocolate, which I also love!) It is often described as a 'grown up taste', I think its a little closer to dark chocolate, but without the bitter aftertaste. I view this as an indulgence, and it ...

Advantages: authentic flavour, organic Disadvantages: the price!
...back of the cupboard - Green & Black's Organic Hot Chocolate. I think this has been sitting in the cupboard for a while - I don't remember it being there, but I'll give it a go anyway. As the label says, this product is organic. Organic here means that every ingredient is organic, not just the major constituents, as can happen with a number of supposedly "organic" products. So on drinking this product you can be safe in the knowledge that you are ... ...provide us with cheap chocolate. Green and Black do not accept this and buy their ingredients through the fair trade scheme, meaning that they are helping the farmers to get a fair price for their produce.
Enough of the background, onto the product itself. The packaging is very inconspicuous, which is probably why I left this in the cupboard for so long without touching it! The 300g jar is of brown glass, with the lid and label both being of a different ...

Advantages: Chocolatey, creamy, luxury Disadvantages: More expensive than other brands
...can't get your's like that? Green and Black's tastes like it comes from a cafe or restaurant.
The Product:
**************
On opening the jar, there is a gold foil covering over the top. It is quite hard to peel these off, it is easier to stab through it and then use this hole to tear the rest off.
The actual product isn't a powder, but granules. It is all different shades of brown but mainly dark brown and the granules are very small. Some may ... ...if it doesn't taste good?
Green and Black's make other chocolate products other than hot chocolate. They make dark, milk and white chocolate bars, pralines, boxes of individual chocolates, cooking chocolate etc. The range is vast. Contact Information:

Advantages: Tastes divine!!! Disadvantages: not very thirst quenching, but who cares when it tastes this good?!
...became a huge fan of Green and Blacks dark chocolate. I decided to expand on the range of Green and Black products i tried! When i saw the hot chocolate on the shelf, i couldn't resist! it was love at first sight! For those that have tried Green and Blacks chocolate, i would describe this drink as being the melted version! for those who have not, try it, but i will attempt to explain the glorious experience of the Green and Blacks world! This hot ... ...Like all other Green and Blacks products, this hot chocolate drink is organic. All ingredients other than the soya lecithin in the emulsifier are organic, and the cocoa beans are bought straight form the growers. Energy 385kcals

Advantages: Gorgeous choc-fix Disadvantages: None at all, whatsoever
All those complaints in other ops about this manna from heaven being too expensive has driven me to complain. How expensive is pure pleasure in an instant? This stuff is wonderful. Dark & creamy, soft & not too sweet, it's the perfect chocolate fix for those who don't generally feel the need to keep chocolate in the house. It just lurks quietly in the cupboard (at the back if you're posessive) until called upon to deliver the goods.
With 60% cocoa ... ...and almost 30% Organic Cocoa Powder, it has more proper chocolate flavour than the insipid milk chocolate often purveyed upon our shores. Suitable for vegetarians, vegans and coeliacs, holding the Soil Association symbol/Organic Certification, this powdered drink can be made up with water (and doesn't taste half bad) for those who are on strict diets, but tastes best when made up with full-fat milk. Marshmallows or a blob of vanilla icecream make ...
