All those complaints in other ops about this manna from heaven being too expensive has driven me to complain. How expensive is pure pleasure in an instant?
This stuff is wonderful. Dark & creamy, soft & not too sweet, it's the perfect chocolate fix for those who don't generally feel the need to keep chocolate in the house. It just lurks quietly in the cupboard (at the back if you're posessive) until called upon to deliver the goods.
With 60% cocoa solids in the 16.3% Organic Chocolate it is made from, and almost 30% Organic Cocoa Powder, it has more proper chocolate flavour than the insipid milk chocolate often purveyed upon our shores.
Suitable for vegetarians, vegans and coeliacs, holding the Soil Association symbol/Organic Certification, this powdered drink can be made up with water (and doesn't taste half bad) for those who are on strict diets, but tastes best when made up with full-fat milk. Marshmallows or a blob of vanilla icecream make this drink the height of luxury, and scrummy yummy too. ( I can recommend the icecream thing - just a teaspoon of it, especially the stuff with the bits of vanilla in - mmmmmmm m)
The Best Before date on the jar is usually some 3 years hence, you will find when you buy it. Some will power you'd have if it lasted that long!
So this is expensive - but it's cheaper than a flight to Switzerland to buy the real thing, and cheaper than starting the car, driving it cold to the corner shop to buy a Double Decker 'cos you're feeling like a bar of 'chocolate'and driving home again.
Every house should have some for emergency use. Go out tomorrow and buy some, experience the sublime.
Update: due to clamouring from the wings - I buy mine wherever I shop, it's available in all the supermarkets I use, and the local health food shops as well. As for cost: didn't I mention - don't care, doesn't matter?
