Advantages Tastes divine!!!

Disadvantages not very thirst quenching, but who cares when it tastes this good?!

It all began when i became a huge fan of Green and Blacks dark chocolate. I decided to expand on the range of Green and Black products i tried! When i saw the hot chocolate on the shelf, i couldn't resist! it was love at first sight!

For those that have tried Green and Blacks chocolate, i would describe this drink as being the melted version! for those who have not, try it, but i will attempt to explain the glorious experience of the Green and Blacks world!

This hot chocolate drink is not as sweet as many other brands. It has a bitter taste that lingers in your mouth. As the drink uses milk rather than water, it has a creamy and richer taste. This also makes the drink more substantial. To me it tastes more like dark chocolate, rater than milk, which comes as a welcome change from many other hot chocolate drinks.

The texture is smooth rather than gritty or powdery.

It smells like dark chocolate but not quite as strong. It smells just like it tastes; heavenly!

It looks a bit darker than your average hot chocolate, and forms a thin creamy frothy layer on the top, yum! This layer tends to leave a browny moustache, which is great about half an hour later when your craving for more, simply lick the upper lip!

The hot chocolate is simple to prepare, and can be done in two ways, as instructed on the jar! You can either heat cold milk and the granuals (four teaspoons per 250 ml of milk) in the microwave for 1 min 40 seconds. Or heat the milk in a pan, and pour over the granuals. I normally dont use quite this much milk, so use less granuals too.

Like all other Green and Blacks products, this hot chocolate drink is organic. All ingredients other than the soya lecithin in the emulsifier are organic, and the cocoa beans are bought straight form the growers.

Unfortunately on the packaging it doesn't state the nutritional values per serving, but per 100g of granuals there is:
Energy 385kcals
Protein 9.2g
Carbohydrate 75.9g
Fat 9.0g

It is suitable for vegetarians and vegans, but sadly may contain traces of nut. Also because you need too add milk to the granuals, its not suitable for people that are lactose intolerant.

One jar of Green and Blacks hot chocolate contains 300g of the product.

The price of this jar is usually around the £3.30 region, which is more expensive than other brands, but well worth the extra amount you pay! It can be purchased from most major supermarkets and health food shops.

Overall, a fabulous hot chocolate drink thats not to be missed.

Just to add that as this product is vegan it is suitable for the lactose intolerant! You just need to use soy or rice milk the same as vegans.

I'm a big G&B fan too. However, I believe they're recently been taken over by a big consumer brand company (can't remember which) so we'll have to watch out that they don't degrade the product. Duncan
