Can you believe a Green Flag guy came out and didn't give me grief about having to change a tyre? Well, this is why I love Green Flag. I am a member through my mothers Green Flag family membership and have had to call them out 3 times. Green Flag uses local garages, and unlike the AA and RAC, do not have vans of their own. I can only presume that they really check up on these garages before they let them join because on the three times I have called them out, the person that came to help was friendly, helpful and efficient. The first time was for a flat battery, the van was there n half and hour and fixed the problem. He understood it was my first call out and helped me through it. I couldn't have been happier. The second call out, and don't laugh, was for a flat tyre. Now I know how much that must annoy garage guys, having to come all the way out to a silly girl who doesn't know how to change a tyre but the guy did not let on if thats what he was thinking. He was great, and even showed me how to change one in the future. The third time, my temperature thingy had gone wrong. The guy explained it all to me and had me on my way in half and hour. Now this is in Bedfordshire, and I would highly recommend Green Flag. Obviously, in other areas the guys may not be as friendly but I haven't experienced them. The only thing I would say is that to call the freefone number from a mobile is expensive (It cost me about £4 on a pay and go phone) Apart from that, they are reasonable (About £30 per month for a whole family) and efficient.

Advantages: May have a reasonable recovery service, but I've never had to use it Disadvantages: Eager to get your money, dishonest, don't honour agreements.
