Green Flag - European Cover |
|---|
Having use Green Flag recently in France I would strongly suggest that if you need European Cover please look elsewhere. They were an nightmare. I was left 3 hours in the heat after calling the second time I was told it was going to be another 1.5 hrs!!. I eventually had to limp to where I was staying with dodgy wheel bearings as they didnt turn up. When I eventually got back the car was picked up 1.5 hours later. They then left me without a car for over 24hours. I was staying in a little hamlet in France with no shops therefre I couldnt get any food for the family.
The car I got was smaller than mine and therefore with five passengers it was too small. By theway Green Flag state that they are only there to assist passengers and are not responsibile for luggage. I wouldnt mind but we only had holdalls and in a small Clio they wouldnt fit. If they gave us a similar car to ours there wouldn't of been a problem. So expect to dump your luggage if you have a problem. When I checked in the car they hadnt bothered to extend it so I ended up paying for it myself after waiting over two hours in the car hire firm for them to authorise the further payment. By the way Green Flag appear to think that everyone opens their e-mails immediately. They sent a query to the car hire company ,Enterprise, requesting that they sort out my car hire extention. Three days later it still hadnt been opened!!! If I hadnt of paid for it myself I most probably still be sitting there.
Many of the staff I spoke to havent got a clue about systems abroad. No-one either writes on the computer what you say or reads it or even listens to you. When I compalined about the service I was informed that Green Flag we 'just interpreters and not there to sort out the problem with my car' !!!! Correct me if I am wrong they are a breakdown service. If I had wanted just an interpreter I wouldnt of paid for 'Breakdown Cover. For future reference for anyone who breaks down in France make sure the log book is left with the car if it has to go to the garange. In France it is a requirement, all French garages request it.
Green Flag dont bother to tell you neither do they ring you back when they say they will. If you use Green Flag please make sure you either have a contract phone or top up your sim before you go. They give you a freephone number which is fine if you are in a main town but if you are in the country you have to call them via your mobile and when you have to keep repeating yourself because no-one listens or reads the computer your phone bill will be high.Staff were polite but very not clued up with Europe and how it works at all. If you want a cheap option then please use but learn French first so that you can deal with it yourself. My advise is use the AA or RAC. They may be more expensive but the service will I am sure not be and poor as Green Flag and you may have a stress free holiday.
Happy holidays!!!!
