I recently purchased one of these to listen to my ipod in my car. I just couldn't possibly be more disappointed with this product. I think the idea is fantastic, but lets face it; it doesn't work... more

Advantages Advantages play your ipod through radio or hi fi without wires

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Allegedly it's illegal - I won't tell if you won't

iTrip - what the heck's that? What does it do? ******************************************* ***** The Griffin iTrip is the best $30 dollars worth of iPod widget that money can buy. It's a clever little gizmo that plugs into the top of your pod - where the headphones normally go - and tuns it into a clever little transmitter. If you then tune your radio, car radio, super-whizzy hi-fi system etc to the transmitting frequency, hey presto - they play the tunes from your pod. It's really amazingly clever. I took it to my sister's house this weekend and we had it transmitting simultaneously through ... more

    Advantages Advantages Clever solution.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Simpler solutions are more effective.

Be very careful when buying this product. It is supposed to turn your iPod into an FM transmitter so that you can listen to your iPod using a car or other radio. But there are two models available which only work with some models of iPod and in any case if you want to connect an iPod to your stereo there are cheaper and more effective ways of doing it. First take a look at the picture above. This is an old version of the iTrip which is still available. If you have an older iPod (like the one shown, or another one which has an additional port on the top next to the earphone jack for remote ... more

    Advantages Advantages portable and small

    Disadvantages Disadvantages very poor signal

I bought an itrip in December of last year and although my impression was good at first, it has since dropped. For a few weeks the novelty was great - being able to transmit your own music over the airwaves. However it soon wore off. I also possess a lead/wire which connects ipods to sterios through the jack socket and it is far better. the frequency cannot be interupted and the cound quality is much better too. And although it seems absurd but it is actually possible to have my ipod further away from the sterio with a lead than it is with the itrip. This is because i have found that ... more

Advantages Advantages Transmitting you're tunes through your radio!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Runs from the battery off the ipod.

If you're the owner of an apple ipod this gadget will get you soooo excited!! I have owned my ipod for approx 1 year, my friend also has one. My friend had visited America and purchased an FM transmitter from the Apple store whilst over there. This was around a year ago . At the time, i remember thinking how much i wanted one, but i certainly wasn't visiting America to buy one!! She paid approximately £40. I on the other hand was brousing Ebay when i came across the Griffin iTrip transmitter, which has since been given a digital display to show frequency. 'Brilliant' i thought!! The item was ... more

Advantages Advantages Looks great, extra gadget in your pocket

Disadvantages Disadvantages Doesn't work in London

A great new toy. Something that would look infinitely better than my current casette tape that connects to the headphone jack of my ipod in my car. Or potentially a complete waste of money. The first problem with this gadget is that there is a limited range of frequencies that this gadget can produce somewhere in the range of 88.9-110Mhz. Unfortunately because of the number of radio stations in London and many other cities, the more powerful FM transmitters used by radio stations both legal and not far overpower the itrips meagre signal. If you do find a frequency that is not being used by ... more
