The Grobag Egg is a night light that is designed to keep a close monitor on the temperature in your child's bedroom or nursery and it is easy to see because it lights up and this also means that you can peer in to your children's room without having to disturb their sleep or alert them to your presence.
The device is egg shaped with a permanent back lit LCD readout and the actual temperature is display so you can be aware of whether the temperature is just a little too high or too cold and adjust things accordingly to ensure that your baby is kept warm at all times. The ideal temperature is 16-20 degrees and the temperature colour gauges are listed below:
Cold - Blue - Under 16 degrees Ideal - Yellow - 16-20 degrees Warm - Orange - 20-24 degrees Hot - Red - Over 24 degrees
I think that this is a fantastic safety feature for watching over your child and ensuring that their room is kept to the correct temperature at all times as a high temperature is one of the factors that can slightly increase cot death. It is not an essential addition to a child's nursery but it is one that I would definitely recommend. They do not shine so bright that they will keep you awake if your child sleeps in your room with you and I think that you can't really put a price on your child's safety. These are available from Amazon for £17.18 or from Mothercare instore or online for £21.99 and it's not really a high price to pay for the peace of mind that it provides. I am therefore rating this product 5/5.

...subjects as SIDS. The Grobag egg is a digital thermometer and night light with a clear display and colour coded glows to warn parents of too warm or cold a room. The egg is a well designed and fun accessory to any room and provides a nice glow to keep baby feeling safe too.
We were initially quite obsessive with room temperature as baby was born in a particularly strange period of weather ranging from snow to warm sun in a couple of weeks. As the ... ...When we then bought a grobag it came with a simple card thermometer which told you exactly what to clothe baby in for whatever the temperature was. The reading on the card matched the baby monitor and NOT the Grobag egg so we now only use the egg for its aesthetics and nice glow. ...

this is such a fab product. it definately eases mine and my partners mind about the room heat and the babys heat. i wouldnt be without and it is defo worth the money its priced at.
the egg has about 4 colours blue- cold, yellow- just right, orange- getting too hot and red- too hot when it gets to orange you are able to sort out the heat before it turns red.
this gives you accurate readings that are easy to read and because of the colour you are ...

When you take into account how long you use the egg for the price really isn't bad, and for the peace of mind it gives we find it definately worth every penny, one quick glance and I know if we need to turn the heating back up ! Would highly recommend and worth the expense. ...

Grobag thermometers are an opportunity for the Grobag empire to persuade you to part with even more of your money to buy lovely stylish versions of things you can buy cheaper elsewhere but don't want to once you've seen these!
This is a funky, egg-shaped room thermometer. It glows to show you the temperature, so you don't have to faff around on the dark trying not to wake up a baby while trying to read some tiny digital display. It does have a display as well, but the colour tells you what you need to know - blue is below 16 degrees celsius (and too cold), yellow is 16-20 celsius, orange is 20-25 celsius and red is above 25 celsius and is too damned hot by far.
Apparently babies are happiest when they're between 16 and 20 degrees, and of course we're all terrified of cot death and most people now know that one of the risk ...

a factor that should be avoided to help reduce the unimaginable happening. Putting her to bed for the first time became a very traumatic event (for me, not her!), what should she wear, does she need a hat, how many blankets does she need, do we have any baby sheets!?!? Aggghhh!
After a few sleepless nights, I decided that I had to take some action for my peace of mind. The sleepless nights weren't down to a screaming baby, more that I couldn't switch off properly and had to keep checking that she was still ok. After months of being bombarded with adverts, emails and baby magazines one solution stuck in my mind and without a second thought, I went out and bought the GrobagEgg for £19.99.

Recently purchased this product and have started using it in preparation for the arrival of our baby. As great as the features advertised with this product may be,unfortunately it is unreliable.
I live by the water and have placed the cot next to a window with a light breeze since it is getting warmer. The grobagegg kept reporting the temperature between 24-27 degrees celsius whilst I was freezing from the breeze. This was rather odd. I ended up buying a baby monitor which has a temperature guage and it seems to be more accurate than the egg. I should not have resorted to getting another product to check this.
Considering the brand and the price of this thermometer and the simple and small number of functions of this product, you would expect that the product would be accurate and a no brainer to design and produce. Sadly it ...
