(+) Long lasting, individual, mouth wateringly fruity! (-) Pretty expensive but worth it! Lid of bottle is way too heavy and almost same size as bottle
Advantages: A strong long lasting scent that settles, classic perfume and bottle. Disadvantages: Quite strong at first, expensive, an autumn/winter fragrance.

I am quite loyal to my regular perfumes as once I like a smell I tend to stick with it. I have had Gucci Eau de Parfum sitting unopened for a while now. Purely because I love the packaging and I have been a little scared by it strong scent which I have smelt before. But after coming to my senses and realising I really need to use it I have recently decided to give this a go.
** Perfume Packaging **
A part of me truly wonders what the fascinating people at Gucci were thinking when they made this bottle. The bottle is itself indeed very glamorous and definitely made to be on a dressing table somewhere rather fancy. The Gucci brand is known for its 'square' design. The solid square thick glass bottom and hefty circular glass lid definitely highlights quality and being three high-end glassmakers: Saint Gobain, Pochet, and Brosse, it definitely isn't for the faint hearted. At the very least it stands as a brilliant paper weight or door stop! It really is that heavy, so not one for carrying around in your handbag. The distinct packaging allows you to see the deep amber liquid on the inside, which automatically gives me an impression that the scent is going to be relatively deep and heavy. It also concerns me that there is a lot more bottle then perfume! However, depending on how good the spray is will depend on how long the liquid will last. When I do eventually finish the perfume, the bottle is so striking and high-class that I will have to keep it. It really is a small piece of art in its own right.
The packaging portrays the Gucci brand perfectly. Robust, glamorous, effortless and simply stunning.
** The Heart Notes **
The heart scents (otherwise known as the middle notes) are what makes up the main body of the perfume and is usually what catches the most attention and appeal. The heart notes are most apparent within an hour of wearing the perfume and generally last throughout the life of the perfume on the skin. So when people ask 'oh what's that smell?' it's usually these notes that they can sense.
Patchouli, orange blossom, vanilla, citrus, cumin, thyme and musk.
All of the main notes really give the fragrance a deep well blended and seductive scent. But without it being to stuffy, the orange blossom and citrus lightens it up just perfectly and the musky scent forms together really well with the vanilla to stop it being too suffocating. The Patchouli and citrus also adds a small zing to the otherwise flat scent.
** Wearing The Fragrance **
This really is an alluring fragrance that I was surprised at how much I liked. Definitely a warm and deep smell, to fit in perfect with the Autumn and winter weather. It does spray really well and you only need a couple of sprays as the aroma comes out very heavy and quite sharp. It is really unlike me to want to wear anything that isn't fruity and light but this really does get to you and grows on you! The deep romantic aroma is very spicy at first, which I think originally put me off the perfume, however it lightens out into something you can't stop sniffing! A light but strong vanilla at first but lightens out into quite a crisp citrus scent and the blossom really comes out.
The fragrance is really strong which in my opinion shows the quality of not only the liquid but also the expertise in the scents being blended together perfectly. Ii isn't something that lingers for hours but does give a subtle sexy smell throughout the day. A few sprays of this and your inner goddess will automatically appear. The perfume lasts a good few hours on the skin and really develops after 20 minutes or so. I don't like to reapply this often as this is one of the few perfumes that I prefer when the scent has actually settles. The powdery after scent is really soft and this is what makes me want to keep wearing the perfume. The first couple of minutes tend to have that suffocating effect so it is always good to spray this before leaving the house. But after a few attempts I have become extremely fond of this perfume.
** Price, Availability & Other Products **
As with most perfumes the price varies depending on where you got and what size you get. I would always advice you to look online as there are so many perfume retailers now. I bought mine for £30.00 for 50ml from The Perfume Shop. The usual places such as Boots etc have it on sale for around the same price. Although I would advise you to have a look online as this perfume tends to cost around £40-£50 for the 50ml. Gucci Eau De Parfum also comes in- Eau De Parfum Spray 30ml / 50ml / 100ml Body Lotion 150ml Deodorant Spray 100ml Shower Gel 150ml
** Recommendation **
Launched in 2002, as you would expect, this Gucci perfume really is timeless. It really comes across as a sensual fragrance that lingers on the skin for a lot longer then I imagined, definitely down to the quality of the perfume. Being quite a heavy, but alluring scent it is perfect just before going out for the evening or first thing in the morning so it lingers throughout the day. However, I wouldn't use it as a pick me up throughout the day and it is definitely a winter perfume and not a summer fragrance.
I think this is a pretty good perfume as a present. In general it is a classic strong perfume but even if the person doesn't wear it often they will definitely bring it out for special occasions. Obviously the Gucci name is one that always goes down well and the gorgeous bottle looks good on the eye. Gucci reportedly wanted this to somewhat of an androgynous perfume, a unisex product to the mass market. Hence the slight spiciness to the scent. I can see this working as it does have a strong twist at the beginning, but in my mind I still find that the orange blossom and vanilla give it a slightly more luscious feminine touch. Sorry guys!
100% recommended. Long lasting, warm, rich, zesty and seductive. A true Gucci Love potion.
Advantages: Smells so darkly sexy! Disadvantages: The bottle weighs a tonne..
...It just has the words Gucci in small letters on the box. I was a little confused as the perfume doesnt actually have name. It is just purely Gucci Eau De Parfum
The bottle is just the funniest thing I have ever seen. Its all bottle and no perfume! Its a big square chunk of glass. Vey minimalist with no fuss or frills. One thing is that it weighs a tonne. You could'nt slip it into your handbag. You would need to de cant it into an atomiser.
Through ... ...in a small compartment in the middle. The lid is also square which is almost suckered on to the spray cap. Its quite easy to pull off. But you do need to hold it with both hands and give it a fairly good tug.
For Gods sake don't drop it onto your tootsie..as you would probably break it. And it may even clonk a hole in your floorboards as well!

...not two, but three gorgeous Gucci by Gucci parcels from my fiancé. A wonderful choice, the Eau de Parfum was launched late last year and I don’t know anyone else who has it yet - I‘m certain no-one but me was wearing it at the Irish pub we went to for our celebrations that evening.

This is my kind of perfume - oriental in style, it is sensual and sophisticated. A blend of cistus (not ‘citrus’ as one on-line retailer would have us believe), heliotrope, orange blossom, orris, vanilla, cumin and thyme, with a heady base of deep musk, combine to produce a scent which I like to wear in the evening, preferring something fresher and lighter for the daytime. Gucci
Gucci was founded all the way back in 1921 by Guccio Gucci. The House of Gucci is one of the world's most famous Italian fashion brands, along with Dolce & Gabbana, Armani, Valentino and Versace. Gucci is probably most famous for their handbags (the famous G, brown pattern) and clothes. Gucci has launched numerous other perfumes for both men and women, Envy, Rush, Gucci Eau de Parfum, Envy Me, and Envy Me 2. I sprayed a generous amount of the perfume onto my wrist and I could smell it before I put my wrist near my face! It was so overpowering it was very off putting, and I was out the store in a few seconds. It was a nice smell, but just much too overpowering. I got used to the smell after a while, and eventually I thought, "This is actually quite nice!". I bought it a few ...

Advantages: long lasting Disadvantages: heavy bottle, difficult to get lid off
A strong, long lasting smell that is great for winter time. It has a definate musky smell with notes of sandalwood, vanilla, caraway and orange blossom. Not for the faint hearted this one, it has real staying power so last all day and even into the evening so it good value for money. I'm not normally one for strong perfumes but this one is devine! It comes in various sizes, I had the 50ml in a large square glass bottle that weights a tonne so not ... ...for that!. The lid is a bit tricky to pop off due to the shape of it. You dont appear to get much perfume in the bottle as the glass is so thick but it lasted me ages. I was given mine at Christmas by my husband and he loved it on me. It's not too girlie and floral so it made a change for me. Heavenly scent, ideal for winter days. If you are passing a perfume shop give it a spray!! ...

Advantages: A really fresh young fragnance Disadvantages: Wears off quickly if worn alone
Gucci II has an sweet, edible and floral smell which I find is best worn with the Gucci II body lotion for an optimum lasting smell, it is quite a young smell recommended for ladies between the age of 18-25 year olds Gucci II is light refreshing fragrance which is best suited for flirty day wear. The packaging is simple and pretty does not making too much of a statement just like the fragrance itself. It is not an overpowering fragrance. It can be bought alone or in a gift set. The gift set includes the eaudeparfum, body wash and body lotion, which I highly recommended for the full Gucci II experience! the body lotion leaves the skin deliciously soft. This would make a lovely gift for any young lady, who is sweet and flighty. Gucci II is definitely one of my favourite fragrances. It smells quite similar to Miss Dior Cherie. ...
Advantages: Makes you smell gorgeous! Disadvantages: You may disagree.
/bathroom.
The EaudeParfum costs around £35-£40 for 50ml but a little goes a long way. There are also 30ml bottles for £25ish and gift packs (with body lotion etc) available.
If you do like this and want to drop hints to your other half to buy you some, make sure they don't get Gucci (without the II) which looks very similar, except the perfume is brown not pink, but smells quite different!
I can't think of any disadvantages to having your loved one buy you lovely perfume, as long as they buy one you like. I find it helps to 'guide' them when you're out shopping or flicking through a magazine, but only coming up to my birthday or Christmas of course!
I only wish this could be a scratch and sniff review - please don't buy until you've tried. ...
