Guerlain Samsara

One of the many things that have gone by the wayside luxury wise is perfume, well expensive perfume anyway! As it was my birthday recently however, my darling Mum decided enough was enough and purchased me a small bottle of my favourite scent, Samsara, I hope I do it justice reviewing it for you. If you’ve ever been in the market for a truly unique, individual fragrance, I may have just the thing for you. Samsara, by Guerlain, is a romantic, heady Oriental fragrance unlike most anything you have ever smelled before. In the bottle, it is completely unremarkable, in fact, I almost find it to be too strong. Samsara by Guerlain, is a perfume I’ve been using for years. It’s a special sort of fragrance I use only very occasionally though and not a perfume I’d personally choose to use for casual reasons, trips to the shops or work for example. I have the medium sized 50ml bottle and I paid £29 for this from Boots. This perfume has been around since the late 1980’s and has proved to be a huge hit and it’s still going strong to this day. Whenever Christmas comes around, my two sons always buy me perfume. I do not have to worry as I think that their girlfriends pick the fragrances for them. The perfume is therefore normally quite modern an up with the times or at least I hope it is. This year I had a bottle of Samsara and a bottle of 5th Avenue. Both fragrances are very strong smelling although I cannot say that I prefer either. They are both very nice. Tact plays a large part in my answer as both are members. I discovered this perfume a few years ago, my flatmate donated a bottle to me as she was somehow allergic to it. I really like this perfume, it has a strong scent of musk and spices with a rich essence of vanilla and rose. Its smell reminds me of the Orient if that makes any sense. Although it is quite a heavy perfume, you can definitely get away with wearing it during the day. Although I really like this perfume, it has a few downsides, I would imagine that it is quite an outdated smell.
