of the original Shalimar. Shalimar Light is a fresher, more transparent rendition of the original. The Oriental fragrance utilises the finest, hand-selected raw materials, opening with the lively note of Bergamot. A floral heart of jasmine and rose dries down to a base of vanilla. The curvy bottle reflects the sea's light waves and is inscribed with elegant gold letters. It is completely transparent to reflect the lightness of the fragrance within.

Advantages: Subtly sensuousness, irresistible, exotic Disadvantages: The top of the bottle ALWAYS seems to break

...Having used Guerlain's Shalimar for a number of years already, I was surprised (and a bit shocked) when I received Champs-Elysees for Valentine's Day. As it turned out, it's a pretty fragrance that I do like to wear during the day. It has a flowery headnote, but also comes over with a "woody" touch. It contains mimosa leaf and mimosa flower, almond flower, rose petal, hibiscus seed and almond wood. It's not one of those strong floral fragrances that make you gasp for air when someone wearing it passes by you. It's more subtle than that and I find it quite pleasant and have gotten many compliments on it....
