Advantages: great writing in two genres Disadvantages: she won't lay off cheap romance
...TamiHoag is a best selling American author of suspense and romance novels. I can only comment on the suspense ones as I never read romance.
I first read one of her books, Cry Wolf, last autumn. I was very impressed and decided to read more and do some research on this author.

Well, if they are as mediocre as this, she can keep them!
The plot in theory sounds good. It involves Dr Rennie Newton who is summoned to Jury Duty. She is compelled to return a "not guilty" verdit in the trial of Ricky Lozada who is a notorious killer. She feels that there isn't enough evidence and as chairwoman of the jury, she argues the case and the other members end up agreeing with her.
However, Dr Newton will come to regret returning the "not guilty" verdict as Ricky Lozada develops a crush on her.
