Hot 'N' Thick...

Advantages: Thick, hot tone. Vintage vibe.
Disadvantages: Very pricey

...neck pickup for my recent Gibson SG purchase and am very pleased with the result. The bass response is breathtaking and that's the real improvement.. But the treble and mids are still there in spades. The remaining factory fitted bridge pickup now sounds thin and weedy in comparison. It was also very easy to fit, only being a two-wire job, unlike some humbuckers. When plugged into an overdriven amp, it rocks like a very rocky thing indeed. In short, ...

Cheap and cheerful but better quality tone and intonation around

Advantages: Cheap and cheerful, surprisingly long lasting
Disadvantages: Thin, shrill sounding, other brands offer better intonation and better quality tone

After performing at over 1200 gigs, I have had alot of experience at playing with many different brands of strings. Super Slinky are always my third choice of strings because, in my opinion they do not offer that mid range depth to achieve that big, fat sound I need for playing mainly Rock music. There longevity however is surprisingly good and they have lasted 4 gigs worth playing two hour sets at a time. I have found that other brands offer better ...
...Slinky strings can be very thin sounding especially on my Fender Strat. To summarize though, Super Slinky strings in my opinion are ample quality strings for your typical bedroom player, they are cheap and cheerful and cater well for those who are not too serious about there playing. Given that the longevity of the strings are good and they are relatively cheap to purchase then I also think for corporate playing these strings will do the job just ...

UCG102 not a submarine but a gadget from Behringer

Advantages: Allows for a wide range of digital music options
Disadvantages: Fiddly to get started

...The only proviso is that you should read the manual very carefully and use the Behringer website to get explanations for the terms and instructions. There is a good user forum where any problem you may have will have already been encountered and the answer will be found there. ...

Korg GA-30 Bass tuner

Advantages: Small and compact, cheap
Disadvantages: nill.

...in which to tune. The Korg has a microphone that is sensitive enough for you to play the bass un-amplified near to the tuner, Or you can plug your bass directly into into the tuner via the jack to jack lead in order to tune. An easy to read display shows how far your off the mark and shows the frequency of the string in question. The digital display is useful, the three LED's show when the note is sharp or flat. In my opinion, this tuner is perfect ...

Review of Korg GA-30 Guitar/Bass tuner

Qwik Tune, Excellent Value, Great Quality

Advantages: Featurefull, Great Value
Disadvantages: Bad battery life

I have used this tuner for guitar and bass for many years, as a bass player I find this to get the job done quickly and easily, It is not so efficient for guitar but is still a very good tuner for the price. A positive point about this tuner is that it has 1/4" input and output sockets allowing it to be used between the guitar and amp which, for a tuner of this price range, is quite a useful feature. My only issue with this tuner is that it uses ...
...the tuner is accidentally left on. This is an easy mistake to make as the three main buttons on the tuner are raised and can be accidentally pressed, there is no power indicator to show the tuner is switched on To conclude, this tuner is very good value for money and has excellent features including a microphone for tuning acoustic guitars. ...
