Classic Marshall
Review of Marshall MR 1960A/B by
godspeed
Advantages: Dependable sound and reliability.
Disadvantages: They're huge!
This is the standard Marshall 4x12", rated at 300W. You cannot get a better looking speaker cab. The Marshall is a classic.
The standard version comes in angled (A) or straight (B) formats, which are identical except for their shapes.
The 1960A/B cabs are switchable for stereo operation (where the signal is split between the two vertical pairs of speakers), and also operate at various impedances, so you can match it perfectly to your Marshall head.
... ...a difference this makes.
The Marshall sounds fantastic, even when you're playing a relatively crap head through it. The 75W Marshall/Celestion speakers break up at just the right point, and don't sound boomy even at high volumes.
The other versions of the 1960 cab (X/C/V) are pretty much the same, they mostly use different speakers (the X-version is the vintage reissue, with chequerboard fretcloth), but if you're looking to buy one, make sure the ...

Marshall 4x12 1960 Jcm 900 Speaker Cabinet
Review of Marshall MR 1960 TV Box by
BenMeredith123
Advantages: Awesome Bass Tone and Proper Marshall Sound, Extremley Good Value For Money!!!!!
Disadvantages: Hard To Transport, But Shouldnt be a problem with 2 people, Hard to store.
...the great sound quality of marshall speakers. The amount of bass tone you can produce out of one of these is imense, the sound is so much better than a 2x12 as you get a much bigger sound from the 4x12.
People worrying about noise levels these cabinets do make it any louder they simply produce a bigger sound, the sound level is still controlled from your amp and will not change.
And by the way check gak for better prices or even ebay, much much ...

Marshall 2x12 1936 Review, My Honest Opinion
Review of Marshall MR 1936 StD Box by
BenMeredith123
Advantages: Good Sound Quality, Reasnably Cheap, Not Very Heavy
Disadvantages: Slightly Lacking In Bass Tone And A Big Sound
Hi Dudes!!!!
This Marshall 2x12 Speaker cabinet is a great way to introduce a new head from marshal or another company such as peavey. The sound quality out of the speakers is quite bassy and high quality, not quite as good as the 4x12 but will defetenly keep up with any sort of head you choose. Although this is a very good speaker cabinet and would be alot easier to transport than a 4x12 i would always choose the 4x12 simply beacuse they are not ... ...the real Marshall experience and sounding alot more like the pro's than what the 2x12 would
Although of this the 2x12 is still a very good buy and say and will always say if you buy a marsahll its never going to be a bad buy!!!
Peace!!! ...

Marshall MG30DFX : A Poor Imitation
Review of Marshall MG 30 DFX by
triztanwillis123
Advantages: Cheap and loud
Disadvantages: lacks a real something, uninspiring tone
...awesome. It didn't recreate the marshall tone of my heroes. It didn't have any edge.
This amp is fine for a beginner. When you can just about play something, any sound is good enough. But i bet as you get better, this amp will soon because tiresome, because it doesn't highlight your technique. Presonally, I would buy something like a Line 6 Spider, a Roland Cube 30, and i would try the Marshall Hybrid AVT 20, to see if it fits the bill. A fine beginners ...

Line 6 Spider 3 : Tristan Willis
Review of Line 6 Spider III 15 by
triztanwillis123
Advantages: Awsome tone in a small package
Disadvantages: volume jumps between channels
I love this amp. It just works, and works brilliantly. I bought it as a step up from my Marshall MG30DFX, and this is a vastly superior amplifier. This amp is the most versatile amp i think you'll ever encounter. It does thrash, death metal, blues, rock, shred, clean, anything. It also has a nice range of effects, which are brilliant and go from subtle to mind bending. The construction of this amp is also exemplary. The control nobs feel solid, the ... ...easy to read. The cabinet itself appears to be made from plywood, and sounds fine for an amp of this price. This amp works brilliantly with my LP, my strat and my SG, i love it. If there is one problem with this amp, it is the volme fluctuation when going from channel to channel. I have a nice set up on 'Crunch', i switch to 'Insane' for my solo, and it kills every dog in a 10 mile radius, and pisses of te neighbours to boot. Also, the preset effects ...
