I'm going to start off by apologising for this review as I am not a console person, however found myself loving this game at a new years eve party and actually buying it to play my boyfriend's XBOX 360 which is completely unlike me as the only other game I have ever played is Beijing Olympics.
Guitar Hero, Legends of Rock is the first game in the series to be released with an actual guitar, the two previous had to be played using the controllers which is part and parcel as to why these did not take off and Guitar Hero 3 did, purely because its a lot more fun when you can acually get into the swing of things, and pretend you are actually on stage.
The Game
There are several options in whcih you can play this game, you can create a solo career where you play on your own or you can create a band where 2 people can play together. It is more fun when you play with someone else, thats why we have two guitars and we can play together.
There are several different levels in which you can play, easy, medium, hard and expert, and for each different level they actually getting quicker and you have to use more keys on the guitar which has five differnt coloured keys which have to pressed in time with the colours that come down on your screen. Its a little similar to how dance mats used ot be and that you foot had to touch the mat when the pad lit up, however you have to strum the correct key as the appear.
The game has over 70 different songs that you can choose however you have to start on the first stage and then gradually as you complete various songs it unlocks other songs which you can then complete. It is best to start on easy and then build yourself up on it.
When two players are playing, one person has to be on the guitar and the other had to go on bass guitar so you never get the same notes, and it varies in difficulty. The aim is to achieve as many points as possible, however there is a bar that starts in yellow and as you progress if it moves up to green then you are safe, however if you go into the red then you could result in the song stopping and failing that song and having to repeat it again.
The songs that are available range from rocks songs that I have never heard of and then you get the likes of the Killers so it is really good to hear something that you are familiar with and you get the opportunity to get into the swing of things.
Overall its a great game that is fun for all the family and is especially a good laugh when you have had a couple of drinks. I can't wait to play the World Tour.
