Just to make it clear, this review is for the guitar part of the game only, since I don't own the other parts, I am'nt going to make a rubbish review on it.
Personally, I think guitar hero world tour is brilliant fun. The career lasts for quite a while which is good, and the setlist of songs is also good. The setlist is chosen well in my opinion and includes favourites such as; Livin' on a Prayer (Bon Jovi) , Sweet Home Alabama (Lynyrd Skynyrd) and Hotel California (The Eagles). At first, the game is quite hard to get the hang of (as I found out), but soon you end up getting good quite quickly. I've ony had the game about 2 months and I am already on expert, (despite only playing it about 3/4 times a week). The difficulty level goes from beginner to expert (beginner, easy, medium, hard, expert). The actual difficulty of each level varies from song to song. On the new World Tour, there is a new feature called the slider bar on the guitar. Personally, I don't find it that useful, as you have to move half way up the guitar to get to it, and then back down again fast enough not to mess up the next part of the song. Online Play is in fact very good, there are several different game types (the amount varies depending if you have the full band set or not). The "Rock Ranks" gives you an indication of the other person's level onine. Your rock rank goes up (from 1- 50) depending on how many gigs or songs you play. The only downside of online play is that voice chat is enabled throughout the match/song. Meaning that your opponent can duff up the sound for you. Although there are quite a few good online downoads availabe such as The Killers; Human, Losing Touch, Mr Brightside, the new oasis album, motorhead and many many more. However, over all, I would say this is a good buy and worth the money. Although I do think that the full band set is a bit overprice (£129.99) compared to the guitar set (I got it for £49.99 in HMV).
