Semi hollow, but a whole guitar!
Review of Epiphone The Dot Electric Guitar by monkeybutler100

Advantages: Extremely versatile and gorgeous too!
Disadvantages: People with tiny hands need not apply.

I've owned an Epiphone Dot for over a year now, so I know it intimately. Well, as intimately as a man can get with a guitar anyway! I guess I'll start with the basics for anyone who's just starting out. The Dot is a semi hollow electric guitar, This means thats it has a solid block of wood running lengthways through the body, but has hollow chambers on either side. This means it is more audible than a standard solid electric guitar unplugged, but ...
...often a problem with all Epiphone guitars). When I first bought the guitar, the selector WAS a little crackly, but after a couple of weeks it was fine - I just put it down to some dirt. Just to make a correctiont to the other review here - dont expect a "standard Gibson shape" headstock. Its an Epi headstock, and its massive(!) HOW DOES IT FEEL? Well, contrary to the other review here, if youre expecting a light guitar with it being a semi, then ... Read review

legendary epiphone gothic
Review of Epiphone Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar by KB4000

Advantages: great sound
Disadvantages: need a decent amp to go with it

Well what a guitar this has to be my favourite guitar that i own. It looks great, sounds great and lets just face it its great. On stage it has never let me down it never sounds bad though this may because of my marshall amp but the two go together nicely. You may say that its the cheap version of the Gibson you would be right but it uses basicly all the same things its just the gibsons are hand made. The clean sound on this guitar is great sounds ...
...jonny b good or the classic summer of 69 obviously you can do them distorted but i thought that they sounded fantastic on clean. Well when my band wanted to do the darkness in the concert i thought i would use a much rocky guitar than this so i tried my flying v but i thought naaa tried this and the distorted sound was just incredible i manged to get the perfect sound. I have noticed that a few people have had input problems this is quite common ... Read review

A good starter guitar
Review of Fender Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar by mrs_mccartney

Advantages: Endorsed by Fender, very well made.
Disadvantages: Little choice of colour and hard to get left-handed.

...same factories as the "normal" Fender guitars and is of almost the same quality; just a reduced price tag. There are 2 types of Squier, and the Standard is the better of the 2. This guitar has everything the more expensive models have, and I have even seen some people performing on stage with these types rather than the full-price Strats. It is of a medium weight, and generally speaking, you will need to factor in the cost of a gig bag to carry ...
...even then it's still great value as a starter guitar. The colours and designs are more limited than its more pricey brothers and sisters but having said that, because it's cheap, you could always have fun customising its look for yourself. They are also pretty robust and are easy to clean. I did find it hard to get myself my left handed model though, so you may need to order it in specially if you need it. ... Read review

Epiphone EJ-200
Review of Epiphone EJ-200 Acoustic Guitar by rossdev

Advantages: Big sound, Big tone
Disadvantages: Big body is not good for some tastes

First off, I will explain quickly the main specifications on this beautiful guitar: Spruce top, Maple back, sides and neck, Jumbo sized guitar, No cutaway. This guitar is absolutely gorgeous. If you find a picture of it, you will know exactly what I mean. First impressions on this guitar are that it looks wonderful, and is a very big bodied guitar. This may take some getting used to, but after the first few plays, it becomes easier. The tone on ...
...I personally am an indie/rock player, but it suits blues and plays jazzy styles well too. It isdefinitely more of a strummers guitar than a solo-ers (if that's a correct term) guitar. THe higher frets are harder to reach, and with no cutaway, getting above 15 is pretty hard. The neck is very smooth and fast to play on, almost begging the fingers to the right frets, it is so nice. Un-amplified this guitar sounds very sweet, warm and feels so easy ... Read review
