Chet made it
Review of Gibson Chet Atkins Studio CE/CEC Classical Guitar by
ivsergant
Advantages: breakthrough in classical guitar design
Disadvantages: the price is too high because of limited edition and signature model
...tell you some words about Gibson Chet Atkins Studio CE/CEC Classical Guitar. It is a professional instrument which suposes professional style of playing. Also it is a signature model ( i mean Chet's sign) and that's why it has some collection value. I can say that Chet Atkins CEC is truly a breakthrough in classical guitar design. The CEC is equipped with hex piezo bridge transducer, individual string volume controls and a 2-inch nut. It comes finished ... ...with an optional cedar top. Ofcourse the sound of this guitar is great. The truly collectors and professional know what is like when your guitar sings but not silent. Expensive materials (wood) and well done work .What can i say if you need a professional classical guitar and you may pay than you should try this guitar-making masterpiece by old famous Chet Atkins. And don't forget there is his signature (may be you're a fan). ...

Chet Atkins made Gibson a little better
Review of Gibson Chet Atkins CE Classical Guitar by
ivsergant
Advantages: good quality of sound and construction
Disadvantages: high price
...lot. His choice was always Gibson and he wants to make his favourite guitars better by entering his own ideas. Chet Atkins CE is one of them. It's a classical guitar with big rounded body and thick long fingerboard. It's very beautiful finished in Wine Red or Antique Natural. The sound of it is excellent just because it's Gibson whose experience in guitarmaking is outrageous. It is soft and light you may feel every string and every sound of it. It's ... ...CE you'll have no problem with this. Gibson uses only high quality materials for such a good classical instruments like one we have. And ofcourse when you see Chet Atkins signature you feel yourself like you keep in your hands part of rock-history and these feelings are to get them. ...

Ovation Country Artist Classical Electric
Review of Ovation Country Artist 6773 Classical Guitar by
Uglybro
Advantages: Price, playability, craftmanship, live and recorded sound
Disadvantages: average acoutic sound, round back guitar
The Ovation Country Artist classical guitar is what one would expect from and American made Ovation. It is equally at home on the stage or in the studio. The acoustic sound is unbalanced, as the wound strings over power the nylon/gut strings, but plug it in and this guitar shines. Each string has an idividual peizo transducer which is coupled with a pre-amp that has a four band EQ and a notch filter to elimenate feed-back during live performances. ... ...muddy up a recording. This guitar is well made. The seka spruce top has a flawless clear finish; the head stock has side mounted ornate slot tuners which are beatiful to look at and a pleasure to use; the neck is wide and thin and very easy to finger with ample room between strings; fret work is imaculate; the intonation of the ebony board is excellent. A nice touch is the wooden flower inlay at the 12th fret which matches the ornate sound hole inlay. ...

If San Miguel could sing...
Review of Tanglewood Sundance TSC-136 CFX Spainsh Guitar by
gwlith_y_wawr
Advantages: Sounds good, looks good
Disadvantages: I can't use it to bat wasps
...(though not of this particular Tanglewood guitar) and these are often what people learn to play on at first, both because of the smaller size and that the nylon strings are much easier on your fingertips.
The right hand is held at almost a right angle to the strings, and the arm can be rested on the top of the guitar. While playing simple arpeggios (tunes using only the notes in a chord that you are holding), there is a general way of picking. ... ...woohoo! According to the Tanglewood site, the RRP is £549, though I had £100 off, probably due to some small marks that are here and there.
☼ Twanging the thing ☼
Most importantly is how it plays. As I explained earlier, this type of guitar is naturally harder to play, but this model is probably as easy as it gets. The action is quite low, but the higher notes have to be pressed much harder than lower ones. There is enough give in ...

Guitar good for children
Review of Applause AN12 Classical Guitar by
Toss
Advantages: light weight
Disadvantages: needs to be a brighter colour
My daughter has just got this guitar for school guitar lessons and really has taken to it very well. It is easy for her to handle, light enough to carry back and forth. It is a good looking guitar and her firends have asked to have a go on it.
It would be good if guitars were alittle more colourful as too many are based on the traditional format. It would be good also if they came with a small tuning devise the same colour as the guitar that could ...
