No competition for the Pacifica
Review of Yamaha Pacifica PAC112 Double Cutaway Electric Guitar by
silentdice
Advantages: Very cheap to buy, very nice sound.
Disadvantages: Boring standard shape.
...to anyone starting guitar.
The Yamaha Pacifica sounds much better than any other guitar in its price range, and is much more versatile. It is a combination of the telecaster and stratocaster style sounds.
The guitar is also very strong, its a heavy, well built guitar. I have never had any problems with my pacifica, and now mine is more than 10 years old, the only problem I have with it is the pick guard has turned a slight yellowy colour. Maybe ...

My first guitar
Review of Yamaha Pacifica PAC112M Double Cutaway Electric Guitar by
ro7sh7an
Advantages: balanced structure, quality sound for the price paid
Disadvantages: heavier than other guitars aimed at beginners
...a present to find a Yamaha Pacifica staring me in the face. I had wanted a guitar for sometime and this was to be my first. At the time the only guitars I knew of were the Les Pauls, Stratocasters and any guitar made by Fender, so I was a bit disppointed to be greeted with a Yamaha make. On first looks it has nothing special and looks extremely basic and gives an almost "text book" design feel, maybe even childish.
However, knowing nothing of guitars ... ...mine for me for £120 including an amp. Had it been more expensive, i probably would not have been able to get such a versatile guitar.
Al though the Yamaha may be seen as a standard guitar by many, it is a perfect starting point for any new guitarist ...

Greatest electric guitar for the price!
Review of Yamaha Pacifica PAC604W Double Cutaway Electric Guitar by
djhappizzez
Advantages: Price, hardware, design etc etc......!
Disadvantages: Not enough colours!
...bargain, priced at around £415. Yamaha have been very generous in this model – about time!
Firstly lets take a look at what is included: Wilkinson VS-100 tremolo, sperzel locking tuners, 22-fret bolt-on maple-neck, solid alder body, a rosewood fingerboard, Alnico V pickups, Satin chrome hardware and a Pearloid pick guard.
The beautifully crafted woods are combined with the outstanding hardware to give a stunning model. This model matches up favourably ... ...’69 Tele Thinline and the Ibanez RG2570EX.
The Alnico pickups are particularly good. They come in a two singles and double-single combination. On top of this there is a 5-way position switch which all combines to give a huge variety in the sounds which you can produce on this guitar. One extreme is ideal for heavy overdriven styles whereas at the other end of the spectrum there is a much more mellow sound suitable for both blues and pop. This model ...

Martin DM
Review of Martin DM Acoustic Guitar by
superandyp
Advantages: warm sound, For a range of styles, time proven dreadnaught design.
Disadvantages: Laminated back and sides
...and blues fingerstyle and the Martin suits my style of playing. The guitar has a solid spruce top and laminated mahogany back and sides giving it a very warm sound that has improved after playing. My first impressions of the guitar was how well it was built. It had no rough edges and no other noticable imperfections. When buying the guitar i was considering a Taylor 214 and a Yamaha LL. I recomend buying the Taylor equivelent if a brighter sound ... ...that Bert Jansch gets out of his, and at this price you are paying a bit more money for the Martin heritage. After a year of owning it i have found that the top of the guitar marks easily and the body has become shiny where my arm has rested. ...

Epiphone G400
Review of Epiphone G-400 Electric Guitar by
leeds_fan_1
Advantages: Cheap, Good Quality
Disadvantages: Bad Stock Strings
I have owned this product for half a year now and am very impressed with the quality of the product, considering how cheap it is available. It is very versatile, and is capable of playing a variety of genres, but in general mostly Rock, a la ACDC/Bon Jovi, and Blues Rock. It has fantastic action and set up, and the Pickups sound great, although i would reccomend changing the strings as soon as you get it , as the stock ones arent very good and don't ...
