An extremely versatile and reliable guitar! Advantages: The classic bread and butter of our time - beautiful and brilliant Disadvantages: expensive and daunting to a beginner There is, unsurprisingly, a reason why this guitar is so successful - it is an absolute icon of our time. I own this guitar in Alpine White and it looks sublime, the gold pickups are beautifully worn giving it a well played look and the sound is almost perfect in every way. I chose this guitar based purely on a long time obsession with the beauty of Les Pauls', i went straight here from a cheap knock off strat and have never looked back. Epiphone Les Paul Studio, a little too evil? Advantages: Build quality, Bridge pickup, Hardware Disadvantages: Weight, Finish Firstly i'd like to say that for me this guitar looks rather drab and boring, as it is so plain and all in black. There is no contrast in colour and doesn't really stand out. But with that now said, i will go onto the other aspects. It has the standard les paul fittings, which are sturdy and reliable, and the tuners that hold their tuning very well. The pickups are high output and sound very heavy, which is ideal for hard rock and metal. The neck ... ...with only light distortion but sound good clean. The guitar is quite heavy in weight and can make my shoulder ache if i've had it on the strap too long. But the weight is only due to the mahogany it is made from. It is buit very well and is also sturdy. Casino Bigsby.... bigger and better Advantages: cheap, good sound, nice colour, very good construction Disadvantages: wimpy tuners FIRST OF ALL: I recently bought a Casino, the new Casino Bigsby. I own four other guitars, a Rickenbacker 360/12v64, a Gibson j160e, a Gretsch Country classic 1962 II and a US fender stratocaster. Still the Casino is one of the best guitars I have ever played. I play in a Beatles tribute band, I play the role of Harrison, and of course the Casino was a must. So when I spotted the Casino Bigsby, I was in Love right away and lucky enough for me this ... ...real must-have for every Beatle maniac ;o) ABOUT THE CASINO: Almost everything about this guitar is pure joy, the playing action, the construction, the sound. The only thing about this guitar I don´t like is the fake Kluson-style tuners. These should have been swabbed into something better before it left the factory. Epiphone bags a budget Les Paul Advantages: Traditional Les Paul (LP) Looks, Cheap, Lighter than its LP counterparts Disadvantages: Cheap Construction, Less Sustain ...Mahogany body guitar, with two Epiphone open coil Humbuckers (Bridge and Neck). Mahogany neck with rosewodd fingerboard and dot inlays, teamed with jumbo frets. Chrome Hardware, tune-o-matic bridge and stop tailpiece, 4 knobs (2 Volume, 2 Tone) and a 3-way pick up selector switch (Rhythm, Rhythm + Treble, Treble). Plus a 6ft lead I picked mine up for £180 from an online guitar shop, although I think the price could now be in the region of £190. ... ...reasonably comfortable, although after a while you may find that the top of the guitar may start to rub against your chest, depending on how you are sat. The contours fir around your knee well, and the single cut away allows you to reach all 22 frets. Epiphone Dot Experience Advantages: Looks good.Plays well.The sound is exactly what you'd expect from a Dot. Disadvantages: Sometimes loses tune faster than my other guitars Okay i've had this guitar for around 7 months now.I've never had a problem with it. In my opinion it feels amazing to play.I use a fender hot rod deluxe and they really go together well. i can get anywhere from jazzy cleans to brit rock drive and it feels natural in both.It's also good to play unplugged around the house.Pickup height makes a big difference in sound on this guitar,The action's easy to adjust and plays well very very low.
