No competition for the Pacifica
Advantages: Very cheap to buy, very nice sound. Disadvantages: Boring standard shape.
...to anyone starting guitar.
The Yamaha Pacifica sounds much better than any other guitar in its price range, and is much more versatile. It is a combination of the telecaster and stratocaster style sounds.
The guitar is also very strong, its a heavy, well built guitar. I have never had any problems with my pacifica, and now mine is more than 10 years old, the only problem I have with it is the pick guard has turned a slight yellowy colour. Maybe ...

Tune in Tokyo!
Advantages: Good quality. Comfortable. Disadvantages: Its not a Martin.
Yamaha has been making musical instruments for quite a long time. They have it down to an art form and when it comes to quality, I would rank them among the best.
As for their acoustic guitars, I have often wondered why they arent more popular among the superstar musicians, as I have found them to be better than the more well known name brands, in the acoustic guitar department.
Yamaha acoustic guitars have a really nice and crisp sound, and the ... ...In my opinion, the Yamaha acoustic guitars are every bit as good as the bigger names. Martin acoustics are probably the best, but you can still hang with the big boys on a Yamaha!
This particular model is not the top end for Yamaha, but it is very durable, has a great sound and plays very well. ...

For beginners...
Advantages: Cheap, good size Disadvantages: Soft sound, too much bass
This acoustic guitar is great for beginers. Not that a pro could'nt play it, or that a beginer couldn't play a 2000$ guitar, it's just that if you don't know if you'll play guitar for a long time, investing 2000$ is not a good idea. It will give you a great idea what it is to play guitar. This guitar is normal-sized, so it is not too small. It is also solidly built and, has I had it for 3 years now, I can say that it hasn't changed at all.. Sound ... ...are not coming out of the fretboard. Apart from that, the sound quality is not good. Even if you beat the guitar with a 1.0mm thick pick, it doesn't have a full and loud sound. It also has too much bass in it. It is also not very pleasant to play because of a too high action... ...

Good enough for Carlos
Advantages: A true classic Disadvantages: Weighs a ton
...quality instruments. Whilst Yamaha has produced many models over the years, most have gone unheralded. Only one has really achieved legendary status, the Yamaha SG-2000. Whilst a fair proportion of this status is due to the use in its early days by Carlos Santana, the design and features of this guitar rise well above the celebrity link.
Although the SG-2000 itself debuted in 1976, it came as a result of years of work by Yamaha designer Yojirou ... ...~~~~The Guitar~~~~ The Yamaha SGs had a number of features in common with the Gibson SGs around at that time, namely the double cutaway body style resulting in the horns still so prominent today. SG incidentally stands for solid guitar, and means basically that, a guitar with a solid wooden body.
In the 70's, copying of designs was commonplace and the original SG-175 owed more than a little to the design of the Gibson SG. However, whilst the SG-2000 ...
