Advantages: Fantastic sale!! Disadvantages: During non-sale periods is very pricy, many of the clothes dodgy designs

In the past Gymboree has been the type of shop that I have walked in to and then walked out of again. Many of the clothes are somewhat over the top in design, big on American styling and very expensive. But last month I popped into the store in the Trafford Centre, and I could not believe my eyes, the sale was amazing. I bought summer dresses for my baby girl , my friends baby girl, dresses for next summer, beautiful sundresses reduced from £18 to a fiver!! Shorts and t-shirt outfits reduced to £3 from £16, brilliant! The clothes have all washed extremely well and are such nice cotton that they don't even need much in the way of ironing, always a bonus!!
I love this shop - only thing is there isn't one where I live.
I have, however, visited (and spent a fortune) in the branches in London and Dublin.
The clothes are very individual and beautifully made. High in quality and very wearable - they also wash like a dream.
I have been lucky enough to catch the London branch during a sale - and WOW the reductions are great - make sure to take your credit card. Only trouble is ... while your browsing the ... ...items that catch your eye, and before you know it you've spent an absolute fortune.
Never mind, at least your little rascal will look the bees knees in his/her new clothes.
I just wish they would open a few more branches around the country - but then again, for my bank manager's sake, perhaps things are best left as they are! ...

Review of Gymboree (Shop)
Advantages: Good quality clothing, lasts well, lots of lovely bright colours and matching outfits Disadvantages: A little pricey
I love this shop which is full of bright and cheerful co-ordinated children's clothes. When my daughter was a baby I bought a lot of the leggings and matching tops which lasted extremely well and were great for the stage where she was going around crawling and later learning to walk. The age labels are really appropriate and always seemed to fit her really well.
Nowadays my daughter won't wear the leggings, but she loves the underwear which again ... ...offers you can buy several at a reduced cost. She loves the dresses and shirts, and I never have any problem choosing tops to match. The colours are gorgeous, just the kind of thing I would loved to have worn as a child, and my daughter could spend an afternoon picking things out for herself now. It will be a big shame when she is too big to fit into them anymore!
Admittedly the clothes are a little pricey, but they last well and if you look out ...

Gymboree produces excellent clothing - lovely colourful fabrics with
small details which add to the charm. But the main drawback is the
cost - the garments are expensive, especially things like socks to
go with a particular outfit. In fact the temptation is to want to buy
all the accessories to go with the clothes eg hair-slides and bags.
However, the clothes are beautiful and the fabrics are soft and
comfortable to wear. One of the disadvantages ...

Quick review of Gymboree (Shop)
Gymboree have simply gorgeous outfits for boys and girls - What I love is all the matching accessories, socks, tights, hair ties, even vests and knickers - so cute!!!. They were expensive when they had shops in the UK but now the dollar rate is so good prices are comparable with next, however, the quality is far superior. The clothes wash and tumble dry with no shrinkage or bobbling, so they work out great value. And there is a great second hand market on ebay!
With no shops in the UK, you can buy online, but watch out for expensive postage and unknown customs charges. I love to buy at http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Alice-Flowers-Boutique, great service and delivery. ...

Advantages: Wonderful clothes with matching accesories! Disadvantages: No UK shops anymore so all has to be brought at the online shop
Gymboree are best known in the UK for their music/gym centres for the under 5's - which are fantastic although expensive at £10 for a 45 minute class
Gymboree is a US brand and produces excellent clothing - lovely clothes with small details which add to the effect. But they can be expensive if you decideto buy the whole matching set of an outfit ie socks, caps, blankets etc. Its sooo tempting to want to buy everything!! One set I have brought my ... ...vest, t-shirt, jacket, socks, hat and blanket. There are even matching slippers but managed to resist them! Prices range from a couple of dollars for small items up to $60-$70 dollars for a whole set. But remember the exhange rate with the US at the mo means you can pick up some great bargains!
The UK gmboree shops are no longer open - although some of the music/gym centres do still stock the clothes. If you are in the UK and want to buy the clothes ...
