Although Thierry Henry has been placed in Ciao’s Fifa World Cup 2002 section, I won’t just concentrate on his performance at the World Cup, but on his career as a whole, to give you all an insight into this amazing player.
So, for those of you who aren’t football fans, who is Thierry Henry? Thierry Daniel Henry was born on August 17th 1977 in Les Ulis, France. At the tender age of 13, he was signed by French side AS Monaco as a trainee, where he remained for a further nine years, notching up 119 appearances and 32 goals. Henry made his debut for Monaco in 1995, and helped them to win the French championship in 1996/97, and also propelled them to the UEFA Champions League semi-final in 1998. In October 1997, Henry made his national debut for France, against South Africa. In 1999 he joined Italian side Juventus as a winger. Henry found it hard to adapt to the Italian lifestyle, and it wasn’t long before he was heading to Arsenal in a £10.5million deal to replace Nicolas Anelka, who’d left the club due to personal reasons. However, the world was soon to find the real reason Henry couldn’t quite fit in at Juventus…
The answer was simple – Henry wasn’t a winger – he was a striker, and a damn good one at that. Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger has a natural eye for this type of thing, and spotted Henry’s striking talent immediately. Henry’s fantastic pace and ability to create goals was not overshadowing his immense flair and ability to score goals.
It was in the season immediately preceding the 2002 World Cup that Henry made his biggest impact thus far. As Arsenal raced to glory in the Premier League, our man finished as the Premiership Golden Boot winner, scoring more goals than anyone else that season. That season also saw Arsenal beat Chelsea in the FA Cup final, and Henry was voted into UEFA’s Team Of The Year for 2002.
On the international stage, it was the 1998 World Cup in France in which Henry made a name for himself. He was France’s leading scorer as they won the World Cup on home soil. He also made a big impact at Euro 2000, which France also won. Although France flopped at the 2002 World Cup in Japan & South Korea, Henry saved a little pride for France with his dazzling displays of talent and flair.
In 2002/03, he equalled his own Champions League record of seven goals in 12 games, with three of his goals coming from one game at AS Roma. By the end of the season, Henry had notched up 24 league goals, as well as winning the FA Cup with Arsenal and both English Footballer Of The Year awards. Henry began this season with 122 goals in 219 games – an Arsenal record. To better that, in his first 11 games of the season, he scored an amazing 10 goals.
This season is looking good for Henry. As I write this, his tally stands at 19 goals in 25 games, putting him at the top of the Golden Boot table so far. So what’s next for Henry? He seems to be getting better with every game he plays. The only weakness that I can see personally, is that when he comes back from injury, it can take him two or three games to get back onto form. Although I accept all players take some time to get back into the swing of things, it’s sometimes disappointing to see such a talented player take a back seat in games in which he should be scoring by the bucket load.
At only 26 years old, Henry still has a fair few years left to shine even brighter. The future is certainly looking very bright for Henry and Arsenal. Arsenal are currently sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League, are through to the semi-finals of the FA Cup with a fantastic 5-1 victory over Portsmouth, and have every chance of progressing further in the Champions League. It is widely accepted that Arsenal are possibly the greatest team in the world at this moment in time. Unbeaten in the league this season, they’re certainly the most on form.
Considering that Thierry Henry is widely thought of as possibly the best player in the world at the moment, information on him has actually been very hard to find, so be nice!

i have gave this player this nick name due to his 'fuzzy' hair style. seriously,he is a great player who can play either attack or midfield.he has already scored three or four goals in the premiership so far this season and he is a vital asset to both club and country. he has outstanding pace and acceleration and his finishing is spot on to. lets just hope that he can get a new hair style so that i can drop the nick name! if he stays fit,we may accompney ...

Advantages: Speed, skill, finishing Disadvantages: A bit young, but NOT IMMATURE
His pace and control of the ball is immense. It is like there is an invisible piece of elastic band attached to the ball. Against Denmark he scored a brilliant goal - goals which he has been scoring in the premiership all season.
He is a great great player and at his very young age he can only continue to improve providing he escapes injury.
He really is another important organ for France, as is Zidane, Viera and the truely mad Barthez.
Arsenal ...

Thierry Henry is certainly beginning to stand out amongst his fellow tam mates and he really deserves his success. He is a very hard working player with a huge amount of talent and he deserves to go really far.

Review of Thierry Henry
I have been very impressed by Thiery Henry recently. He is just getting better and better, and has improved beyond doubt since leaving Juventus to join Arsenal two seasons ago. he forms a great partnership with Trezeguet for France, and with Anelka. he is top class with any of the Arsenal strikers, but particularly with Dennis bergkamp. His goal against Man Utd was unbelievable. To have the confidence to do that says something about the man- he is ...

Advantages: Pace, Power, Accelleration, Strength, Ability to run with the ball, Excellent finshing, Superb of the ball running Disadvantages: None
ThierryHenry has established himself as the greatest Arsenal striker since Ian Wright. Aswell as frightening the greatest premiership defenders in the premiership last year, he also scared the best in Europe in Euro 2000 this summer. Playing alongside a player like Dennis Bergkamp must help when you are a goal poacher as i am sure Thierry will agree. When you have a player like Henry you have everything: Pace, Power, Accelleration, Strength, Ability to run with the ball, Excellent finshing, Superb of the ball running, and also good heading ability. LONG LIVE THIERRYHENRY!!!!!!!!!! ...

ThierryHenry is an outstanding football player. He pocesses extreme pace, skill, vision and a wicked shot. I personally feal Henry is the best player in the premier league. People suck up to manchester united players but Henry could get in there team anyday. We purchased him for 11 million but we could now sell him (we never would) for over 30 million. I feal Henry can still get better and i know he will. Henry has scored against the best keepers such as barthez twice this season and pete schmeichel. When Henry was in italy he didnt have enough confidence and he was played out wide. I'm now sure Henry could play in italy.
Much credit and respect has to go to Arsene Wenger who turned him into a goal scoring machine and world class player. I like that Nike advert with Henry on because it is true, Henry is the fastest football player in ...

Oh sh*t! I have accidently deleted everything in this opinion! I will write it back up when I get the chance.
I need to fill up some space before it'll let me send this through. What to talk about? Oh, my dream last night! This is quite odd so I'll just share it with you all: Have you heard that Gay Bar song by Electric 6? In my dream, ThierryHenry was chasing me around a four-poster bed with a bunch of bananas singing/shouting 'I'VE GOT SOMETHING TO STICK IN YOU!' Those words are part of the song by the way, not just my mucky mind! What it means, I dread to think!
I will edit this and rewrite it when I get the chance, please don't rate it. ...
