I bought a TV from curry's 9 months interest free. I paid direct debits each month and was supposed to get a letter 2 weeks before the end of the interest free period telling me the settlement figure and sort code of HFC bank. I never got the letter so I phoned up and got it on phone - problem was 1 digit was wrong in sort code (misheard or misread, cant be sure). I made payment online and thought no more about it until July when they start demanding money, interest, late paymnets etc. I explain that I paid, they say I havent, I contact my bank and find money is sat in someone else's a/c cos of sortcode error. They are now demading 9 months interest - i'm sure they should accept liability for letter absence.

I agree with you there.. keep all your evidence, refuse to pay giving your reasons & hopefully they will know better than to take this to court. Ayesha x
