I am not a mother but have had experience looking after babies during my thirty-five years living on this Earth. Firstly I was a nurse and although I specialised in Theatres and Xray, I did have to look after many toddlers and babies during my ten-year career. Then I became an Aunty to lovely girls, Catherine and Sarah. Ella and Stevie, my Godchildren then came along, so I tend to know what children like to eat.
I believe that if you teach your children good eating habits then they will stay with then forever. I believe in giving children food with no Genetically modified ingredients (no one can really say what the long-term effects will be), no colorants and definitely no preservatives. Catherine is hypersensitive to sunset yellow (even at the age of fifteen) and Stevie suffers from severe Asthma so has to avoid foods that will trigger his condition. Anyway I am digressing, but this may give some understanding as to why I am writing this opinion on Hipps Organic Foods.
Hipps Organic Foods can be feed to toddlers from four months old. In fact, it is a convenient organic meal for toddlers. It was created by Dr Claus, Hipp Chief Executive Officer, Hipp due to the concerns about food health scares and the desire to give children a varied yet wholesome diet. Many parents who start their children out on organic foods want to continue once they get past a year.
Hipp is a German baby food manufacturer and it leads the market in the exclusive use of organic vegetables for its products. In Germany, Hipp has been instrumental in promoting organic farming in Germany. Even when it comes to packaging the baby food 70 percent recycled, glass is used.
**Example**
*Mixed Vegetable* This is a Gluten Free Organic product, so is suitable for children with sensitive stomachs.
Ingredients: Vegetables (73%) (carrots, potatoes, cauliflower, peas) Corn oil Water
Nutritional Information (Per 100g): Energy 145kJ/35kcal Protein 1.3g Carbohydrate 4.4g (of which sugars 2.2g) Fat 1.3g (of which saturates 0.2g) Fibre 2.2g Sodium 0.01g
**Cost** The meals cost £1.19 for a 300g jar.
If you must use bottled food as opposed to blending foods, then Hipp is one to try. Okay, so it is not the cheapest bottled food on the supermarket shelves today. I am not saying that this product is right for every child but surely it is worth trying to help reduce some of the manmade, synthetic products from a child’s diet. Hipp is bringing out a range of children’s organic meals for children over fifteen months old in the near future too.

I buy Hipp organic here in germany and must say it is cheaper.......I always start my babies on jar food until they are able to eat a whole jar then I start making my own food for them.....I did read a survey done here in germany and sadly what is written on the jars as the nutritional facts infact is not true...the only jar food that came out as having any nutritional value was infact a seafood meal, which I have forgotten the name off and have never found in the shops.....Food for thought you may say...but I still use the jars

I used to use this for my son when I was pushed for time and found the jars to be tasty and nutritious(I used to eat the left overs, lol) Nicola:))

We did try this on Taffy when he was still on jars but they've got quite a limited range of flavours for the 7 months + and the food is really bland. Gwen
