I wish I had the time and self to make my daughters food myself. Unfortunately I don't seem to have either, we can't even make extra and store it because most of the food me eat ourselves isn't suitable for her.
So I try to give her the next best thing and in my opinion that is HIPPbaby foods. You can get dried packets (which I haven't tried and have no intention to) and jars which are suitable from 4 mths, 7 mths or 12 mths. The range is good but one bad thing is that they don't do just carrots, or just peas etc for when you first start weaning. Virtually all the 4 mths and most of the 7 mth foods are gluten free and the best thing about HIPP is what you see is what you get.
If it says carrots and potatoes then the ingredients will almost certainly be carrots and potatoes and nothing more, no addatives, no colours no nothing. It gives you peace of mind to know your child is still getting a whole lot of goodness and as close to the real taste as you can get. When I have given Thai some cooked vegetables or chicken or spagetti bolognaise etc I've never even had so much as a screwed up face and I put this down to HIPPs flavours being so exact.
Unfortunately it can be hard to get hold of them though, most supermarkets do stock it but usually only a few varieties so for a months supply you will have to shop around. It is also a few pence more expensive than most brands but I think it's well worth it, especially as we don't yet know the effects of non-organic foods.
