This is definately the site to go to if you are searching for classical music. It has the widest range I have seen, all at reasonable prices.
I have ordered several things from hmv.co.uk and each time I have absolutely been blown away by the speed of service.
Each time the order has been with me within 48 hours, and it is usually delivered the morning after I ordered the item. I was so impressed that I actually wrote them an email telling them how excellent I thought their service was!
The only downside to HMV.co.uk is that the search engine is a little difficult to work out. You first of all have to go into the department you want (ie Classical, Video, Games) then press the 'search by' button to go to the words you want to search for (ie the title, artist, director, composer, or Keywords you want to search for) then put in what you want to find.
I find the easiest thing to do if you are looking for a specific classical piece (ie Rachmaninov piano concerto 2) is to just put it into 'keyword' mode.
They should take a leaf out of Amazon's book for their classical search. On Amazon you can search for Composer, Artist, Conductor, Label and Name of Piece)
Compared to Amazon the prices are similar, but the advantage of HMV is that the postage is cheaper and the service in my oppinion is 10 times better than with Amazon.
If you are looking for a bargain then look up HMV Classics, which is HMV's own label , they cost £5.99 each and are all really good recordings.
HMV also have regular sales on the website. For example video's for £3.99 each, and pop CD's for £6.49 each. To have up to date information about the latest offers then the easiest thing to do is subscribe to their newsletter.
All in all this is a great mail order service. I am disabled and order a lot of things from the internet, and this is by far the fastest service I have seen so far! Highly reccommended!

Need you say more? If you swear the service is that fast, well, we can perhaps take your word for it. The primary problem one encounters in online ordering is the slow delivery or sometimes no delivery at all. This is what I like with the technology, you just browse, take your pick then click and wait. Your op seems good enough although you can improve on the presentation. Carry on... Alex

I visited hmv.co.uk on your recommendation, and was pleasantly surprised that they don't sell any Scheidt at all! (Samuel Scheidt, I mean ;-)
