Manufacturer's product description
The HP TFT5600 RKM provides a full digital display and hot keys keyboard in only 1U. Plus allows enough room to mount an HP switchbox behind it. High-resolution 1024x768 TFT LCD display supports most commonly used resolution for traditional CRT customers. Built-in interface electronics also offers support of common video resolutions of 800 x 600 and 640 x 480 at up to 70 Hz refresh rates. Active matrix TFT screen guarantees a flicker-free picture that is sharper in focus than a CRT monitor. Nine programmable hot keys run across the top of the keyboard with the programming wizard key in the far right corner. The hot keys are work with Compaq switchboxes allowing for rapid movement between rack-mounted devices. After programming, each button can be labeled for easy identification. Intuitive, 3-button On-Screen Display (OSD) is conveniently located on the front/right of the display assembly, making screen adjustments easy. A wide array of adjustments can be made, including brightness, contrast, image adjust, OSD settings and factory presets. Lid Switch will engage when display assembly is closed and shuts off the power to the panel backlight. When opened, display assembly will re-power to current state. This feature is designed to prolong the life of the panel. Multilingual On-Screen Display can support 10 languages. Trackball mouse located below the space bar for a centrally located input device.

Inside the Box you can expand the RAM up to 4Gb thanks to the expansion slots and there are 2 slots available for dual Core Xeon processors. Normally they ship with one and I will mention prices for additional processors later.
On the front of the server, there is a great LED display that gives a simple and effective method of telling shat is plugged in, working or faulty on the server. Handy for diagnosing hardware issues.
Alson on this panel are 2 handy placed USB connectors so you can "front access" devices such as mice and keyboards when setting it up before loading into a server rack.
Weight of it is HEAVY. It takes 2 of you to load and lift this into the rack and it comes with the bolts to attach it to the front of the rack but not the sliding mounts. These are available separately for about £150 a set. It also comes with its...

Advantages: High Density, excellent availabilty Disadvantages: Default SmartArray5i does not have option to add battery cache
...old ProLiant 3000 boxes to these and we've managed to save a fortune in management costs. Remember those times when a server has frozen in a datacentre and you need to phone up and get someone to go in there and reboot it? No longer an issue. iLO takes care of all that providing virtual media, power, etc. Again, I'd highly recommend purchasing the iLO advanced pack. It allows you to view the machine as if you were standing in front of it, in a graphical mode - i.e windows, etc. Without it you can only really see the bios.
All in all an excellent server. They also look really nice when you have loads stacked up. One thing I can recommend is that if you can afford the rack space, do the following:
Server
1U gap
Server
1U gap
etc
Without leaving a gab cabling can become quite difficult to manage at the rear. Also, if you...

Advantages: Takes 6 disks in a 2U package Disadvantages: Not a great deal
...+ controller which allows you to have Raid1 or raid 5 arrays using the 6 internal hot plug disk slots.
********** Manageability*************
HP have a device called the Integrated Lights-Out Standard, this is a device that is integrated into the server and allows you to power off and restart the server as if you were stood in front of it, you can also watch and interact with the boot sequence, load virtual CD's and Floppy disks into the server from anywhere. With the purchase of an additional licence the ILO can provide keyboard and mouse interaction when the operating system has loaded, so you can be truely stood at the server keyboard from 1000's of miles away. One Observation I have of the ILO is that it can be slow for the screen to react so it is really for when all other tools such as terminal services have failed on you.
Other areas...
