...I recently bought a Compaq presario 5000 series PC and I love it! I bought it to use whilst I am at University and so far it has fulfilled my every need. Well, just about. It's the just about that I will explain later. I have a presario 5446 EA and an FS 740 Monitor which is fantastic in itself, flatscreen and great for watching movies on. The computer itself is a fantastic PC but not something you want to carry around very often, believe me. If you are thinking of getting this to take around with you, ie to uni and back every term then I would say that there may be better. The tower base station is hard to handle and has an annoying front compartment that keeps popping open. You can store 4 cd's in it, well, when I say store I mean you can have them falling off their attatchments and falling all over the place as you struggle to grab...

Intel\'s P4 Mobile processors are utilised throughout this series and produces a longer battery life by only running at the speed needed to run the active programs.
Options include: Bluetooth module, CD Rom, DVD Rom, CD/DVD Rom, Expandable RAM upto 1Gb (PC2700) and dockingstation.
On top of the configurable base system there are many external sockets to enable further peripherals and upgrades to be added. (2x USB Sockets, 2x PCMCIA Slots, VGA Out, Parallel Socket, Com Port, TV out socket, Ps/2 Socket, Headphones and Mic Socket).
