DESIGN
BASIC BASIC BASIC is the words but the build quality is high and it looks like a rather expensive machine and it was very popular at recent months. Especially to thoose in
university and thoose that need a basic cheap laptop.
PERFORMANCE
Its not slow but it wont win awards. ... ...outdated Intel Celeron Chip and the meager RAM of 512mb. It wont be runing Adobe CS3
anytime soon but Microsoft Office will run and so will other less demmanding programs. Even some older games will run but you wont be through the roof with the frame
rates either. The saying " you gets what you pay for" springs to mind. Not bad and great value for the price point.
Hello all, I work at several large computer superstores and have access to them all on a daily basis. I Have not purchased these laptops but I instead work with them in order to bring
you the highest quality consumer based reviews. I sometimes ask the opinions of my staff and also of customers to bring you up to speed. So without further interuption here is my review on the HP 530

BASIC BASIC BASIC is the words but the build quality is high and it looks like a rather expensive machine and it was very popular at recent months. Especially to thoose in
university and thoose that need a basic cheap laptop.
PERFORMANCE
Its not slow but it wont win awards. In fact it was quite nippy dispite the poor and outdated Intel Celeron Chip and the meager RAM of 512mb. It wont be runing Adobe CS3
anytime soon but Microsoft Office will run and so will other less demmanding programs. Even some older games will run but you wont be through the roof with the frame
rates either. The saying " you gets what you pay for" springs to mind. Not bad and great value for the price point.
SCREEN
The screen is good and you cant fault it for the price. Its pretty good, for thoose who are wondering its 15.4 inches which is about right. Its rather clear and sharp but again
wont win awards.
EXTRAS
Not much but everything you'd expect on a basic laptop but it has most of the ports you'd need and wifi so no annoing cards or sticks needed.
CONCLUSION
If you want a first laptop or a simple one as your first computer this is it and would do everything required for university and most jobs. Quite nippy to be honest so my personal opinion is to purchase this laptop if it suits your needs.
...The main things th HP have done wrong is they have only put 512 DDR2 in to this laptop and i think that this is not enough for windows vista to run smoothly, would be ok for Windows Xp .After a few days i upgraded the memory of the laptop to 2gb ddr2 this is very easy and was cheap only £30. After i did this the laptop was perfect. The touch pad is made from the same plastic the case and i think it is very good. The Graphics are Intel GMA 950 with ... ...it also failed using the HP Backup Software,Worked perfect when tryiing to copy music disk. The Lid on my laptop has got 2 scratches after only 2 month of using. One more problem i have found with this laptop is that the power cable is in the wrong place always seems to be in the way.
i would reccomend getting this laptop if you are on a tight budget and if you are not botherd about the size of the laptop(would reccomend Ram Upgrade). ...

...just a quick download from HP and Bobs your uncle or ndiswrapper perhaps. Only problem I had, that the machine comes new with 3 partitions already on it, for backup and stuff for Vista I suppose. PClos wouldn't partition it, but Ubuntu had no such problems. 3D desktop runs wonderful, showing the intel graphics card is up to job. Theres no firewire and only 2 usb ports, but at this price what do you expect. You could also grumble at all the connections ... ...the back which is taken up by the battery location. The screen is very clear and colours are beautifully rendered.Albeit there's only 512MB installed as standard, linux makes good use of it and dosn't feel more would be and advantage, but I think I will anyway. Nice machine, and I'm very pleased with it. ...

Advantages: Cost, Reliability, Battery Life, WIFI Range Disadvantages: Display not best, memory - not enough
So what's it got and is it worth it.
My 530 come with Vista Home Basic 32 pre-installed with the option of the Business 32 version for a little extra. It's powered by an IntelCore Due T2050 processor at 1.6GHz with 2MB level 2 cache and 533MHz FSB. The memory let's it down at only 512Mb, which struggles to keep up woth the demand of Vista.
The good news is that the memory can be upgraded to up to 2Gb, however we opted to trash Vista in favour of ... ...reasonable 80Gb SATA Hard Disk Drive and a combi DVD/CD RW drive wth double layer capability allows for essential backups, and writing speeds that won't keep you waiting.
The screen is 15.4 inches with WXGA Brightview technology.
There is a wired network adaptor as well as a wireless connection via a Broadcom 802.11 b/g, allowing complete mobility around the home or office.
We trialled this laptop in the home, using it for small business needs. ...

system runss fast enough with 2.16 ghz processor which is duo core. It has a 120 g hard drive and 1 g memory. Have found that system spec is sufficient just for bsic use. I wul say that though i will be having to upgrade my memory shortly due to intrnet usage and the system running vista have notced and ahev been advised also that vista does use much more ram and hard drive than tht of xp and millenium so 2 g is what is usually advised. Is a good machine for home usage, burning dvds and internet usage. Wouldnt advise as a gaming or business machine. however only an upgrade on the mempry and hard drive would be neded for business. The machine currently has shared graphics so wouldnt b the best machine for gaming. ...

The reason that I write the review about this HP Compaq Buisness Desktop D530 is mainly the Computer itself.
Here we have a very expencive PC (buisness class) at a high as well price. What, but, what do we want the computer to be ?
If I was discussing with Charlton Heston we would very well know deep in our hearts that the computer should have a processor with 100 inlet and outletter legs.
The Computer should also do everything that we needed it to do for us ,logicaly, constably, reliably ,and fast.
-How fast ?
-As
-If it was a 1000nd legged processor what would the diference be ,then ?
-It could be able to work extra utilities, ten windows for example.
-Other ?
-Lots of others. It could have the ease to store the Corel in one single bit and this to be part of its Linux or Windows or whatever ...
