well it was ok for the first few days but then the longer i had it the more that little dead pixel annoyed me
basically crt monitors are not supposed to be able to get dead pixels without being seriously damaged inside so i would avoid this product if you can
it also comes with a driver dislk!? i know... i didnt think monitors came with driver disks either and the guy at the pc world customer service desk was as suprised as i was
it also made a loud click i mean very loud, whenever it turned off/on or changed resolution.
i now have a much better monitor of a different brand.
most other hp products i have used namely my printer and my scanner work fine
Advantages: Affordable, looks good too Disadvantages: Heavy
...In the box you get:
a hp v72 17 inch (16 visible) colour monitor
a pair of harmon/kardon active speakers.
Installation: The monitor once out of the box and on your desk is easy to get running, plug the blue connector into your PC and away you go. I use this monitor with Windows XP so I had no problems using it as the drivers are loaded into XP. For Windows 98/95/ME you can use the CD (supplied) to configure the monitor properly. The speakers were the same plug and play no CD required for Windows 98/95/ME just power up.
The Quality: The picture quality of the monitor is very good, the image is crisp and clear and the screen is nice and big, the monitor supports high resolutions of upto 1290x1024 with upto an 85 hertz rate for less fickering. The best resolution I find is 1024x768 or the writing is so small you cant read it...

Advantages: Up and running in under a minute Disadvantages: Not the fastest, (but then what do you expect)
...That's the manufacturers claim for this industry first product and it's true. Just plug in the drive to an available USB port, install the drivers and software and your away, it could not be easier.
The HP family of DAT (DDS) drives is now in to it's 5th generation, and the reliability and performance has grown with each new model.
The big disadvantage of the previous offerings was the need to invest in costly SCSI cards and cables, but this fabulous product very cleverly brings an industry standard product in to the reach of the serious home user and small business user.
If you have ever suffered a system crash and lost critical or valuable data, you will know the heart sinking feeling of realising you've lost everything, and that sense of "Why didn't I back it up?"...... Well no more excuses, not only does this drive provide...
