At the time, I was addicted to Heinz Tomato Ketchup, but, fancying a change, and having nothing else to put on my cheeseburger one fateful Sunday afternoon at a friend’s BBQ, I dabbled with the unknown and tried a little. ...be surprised to hear, by HP Foods Ltd, amusingly based at Aston Cross in Birmingham, just down the road from where I live, but of course, I had to buy it in Scotland. It’s a squeezy bottle, which wins brownie points with me. There are instructions for the terminally stupid on the neck of the bottle explaining that it might be best if you remove the plastic seal before trying to squeeze the stuff out. ...there were a customer services 0800 number on the bottle, I’d undoubtedly ring it to find out what could be so catastrophic about puncturing the film lid. There isn’t, so I guess I’ll never know. I suppose it’s fairly similar to other BBQ sauces, but it seems to have a fuller depth of flavour.
