I am currently using this printer. I am now getting the value for my money. It prints fast at a speed of up to 8ppm colour and 12ppm black, clear and high quality upto 600x600dpi. It has duplex print options, 2 paper trays with input capacity of a maximum 150 sheets and maximum output of 125sheets. It has a high processor speed of 45mhz, supports nearly all media types i.e brochure, colour, glossy, photo, plain, preprinted, recycled, rough, lebels,envelopes etc. It prints on A4, A5, A6 media sizes and has a 1144 pin DDR2 Dimm slot with a memory of 96 - 352mb. Another good thing is that it is compatible with most operating systems and can be nrtworked.

Advantages: Very cheap, durable, and excellent for the amateur computer user. Disadvantages: Tray a little too small, and a few issues with packing the tray with paper.
I bought the D1470 on special offer in Argos several months ago for £19.99, the current price on promotion being £18.74 (as of the 9th February 2008), although my local store is having difficulty getting the item into stock again (the predecessor, D1460 is available on Amazon just shy of £24). Again, home delivery options are apparently limited with the item currently out of stock in their distribution centre, so be prepared to be disappointed. Ebay auctions are available, but you will be looking at between £25 - £29.99. Typical ink cartridge prices (genuine HP) are currently £12.89 in Argos for black, and £16.99 for colour (this printer taking the standard 2 cartridges, not the mixers in other printers).

We purchased this at work predominently for printing our brochures and mailshot literature, and after a lot of research decided on this product from HP. The price was around £280 + VAT and delivery.
We had always purchased HP products before, as they have proved themselves to be value for money as far as long service and reliability is concerned.
This printer is available in three configurations; The CP1700 is a standard A3 inkjet photo quality printer; the CP1700d is the same model, but comes with a 'duplex unit' which enables you to print documents double sided; the CP1700ps is a 'postscript edition' that comes with 'Adobe Postscript' software and configuration. We purchased the CP1700d option, as when printing our brochures we like to print two sided, and it works very well.
