Design and Quality: --------------------------- This printer looks pretty nice, and isn't as bulky as some colour lasers it's dimensions are approximatly 48 x 45 x 32.5 cm
What's in the box?: ------------------------- Included in the box is: - HP 1500L Printer - Toners (see below for consumable prices) - Laserjet imaging drum - Getting started guide - Paper tray - power cable - 1 year HP Guarantee - software: drivers;HP Toolbox software;HP Status and alerts software.
Printing speed: -------------------- This printer is very quick, however the print speed depends on what quality you are using:
-Black and White printing upto 16ppm -colour printing upto 4ppm
There is a huge difference in the printing speeds of colour and black and white pages... however the colour prints are well worth waiting for!!
The printer is designed to print around 30,000 pages a month, so it would suit an office environment really as at home it's capacity would probably go to waste.
As standard the printer comes with a 125 sheet paper tray, but a second higher capacity paper tray can be added if desired (see below for pricing)
Connectivity ---------------- The printer uses USB to connect to a computer which makes it very easy to set up especially with the included drivers which are very simple to use! It is USB 2.0 compatable meaning high transfer speeds
You can also purchase external print servers for this model enabling network connection (it's a shame that it doesnt come as standard)
Compatability: -------------------
The printer is compatible with pretty much any pc and mac! Windows 98 or higher.
Consumables: ------------------- I think this is the most important thing to look at when you are buying a new printer, how much it is going to cost to run.
Toners: -Magenta toner £58.95 -Black toner £57.52 -Cyan toner £69.27 -Yellow toner £69.27 Apparantly the toners last around 5000 pages, but i have not confirmed this yet... will let you know in 5000 pages time!
Misc: -Imaging drum £129.24 -250sheet paper tray £270.24 -500 sheet paper tray £340.74
Conclusion: ------------------
For a colour laser the printer is actually quite cheap to buy and run (when you look at the epson models). So If you need a colour laser printer then i would definatly recommend this!
